Kmart Additional 30% off Clearance Toys 2/16 - 3/29
At Kmart this morning I saw a couple of signs advertising an additional 30% off clearance toys 2/16 - 2/22.
I only picked up the Unexpected Gathering set because it was the last one and I was afraid it wouldn't last until the next 50% off clearance sale.
UPDATE: The additional 30% off sale has been extended 'til march 1st.
UPDATE 2:Additional 30% off will continue through march 8th
UPDATE 3:A sign in the store showed that the additional 30% off will continue through march 29th

Re: Kmart Additional 30% off Clearance Toys 2/16 - 2/22
I was able to pick up quite a few things, people don't leave lego on clearance at all near me, so while the discount will probably be better next week, it wasn't worth the risk to miss out now.

If there is one. To my knowledge they've never done a 30% off clearance and THEN a 50% off... have they?Brickbuilder0937 wrote:[...] I was afraid it wouldn't last until the next 50% off clearance sale.

Re: Kmart Additional 30% off Clearance Toys 2/16 - 2/22
^I don't think they have done a 30% off sale before. If I remember correctly from last year the new clearance cycles went like this:
Week 1 - 20%
Week 2 - none
Week 3 - 20%
Week 4 - none
Week 5 - 50%
Week 1 - 20%
Week 2 - none
Week 3 - 20%
Week 4 - none
Week 5 - 50%

For anyone in Chicago I checked out the 30% off sale at the K-Mart on Ashland Avenue in Chicago. Here is a list of what they had on clearance. The prices listed are BEFORE the 30% is applied. ....Lion Chi Temple $108 (x2), Spongebob Heroic Heroes of the Deep $12, Worriz' Combat Lair $63, The Goblin King Battle $90, Dragon Mountain $45 x3, Spider-Man Daily Bugle Showdown $45 (beat up box), Attack on Weathertop $45 x3 (+1 that I bought), Stephanie's Outdoor bakery $6 x7, Olivia Polybag $3 x7, (also was 1 Unexpected Gathering $63 that I bought)...hope this helps! Only bought the 2 sets I mentioned but was looking for hobbit and lotr sets only
Re: Kmart Additional 30% off Clearance Toys 2/16 - 2/22
I apologize, I'm pretty bad about official set names but here we go:
Star Wars fighter set with Pong Krell minifig was $25, I got a Corporate Alliance Droid Tank with Jango fett for $13. Iron Man Extremis Sea Battle was $13, Spider-Cycle Chase was $14. Gorzan Gorilla Striker was $32. The $30 Castle set was down to $17, the $20 set down to $13. LOTR Council of Elrond was $19, the sorcerer battle set was $7. Hobbit Riddles for the Ring was $5. Star Wars Dual on Geonosis was $21 and 2013 Advents for $25.
All those prices were AFTER the 30% off. Good luck everyone!

Thanks!
I picked up An unexpected Gathering today Marked down to $50.40 with 30% off. I was able to stack a coupon ($5 off purchase of $35 or more) to bring it down to $45.40. Then I used $10.56 in rewards points to bring it down to $34.84 plus tax.

Re: Kmart Additional 30% off Clearance Toys 2/16 - 2/22
For the first time ever, my Kmart pulled the TRU-classic "mark above retail before markdown" trick. The "clearance prices" were about 10% above MSRP, so the "extra" 30% off was not even that much off of MSRP! Considering how woeful my Kmart does at selling LEGOs in general, I can't believe they think that will work.

Re: Kmart Additional 30% off Clearance Toys 2/16 - 2/22
I stopped by my local Kmart last night, and although there were some issues with Legos not being marked correctly, and the online stock not reflecting accurately what was in the store, I made out like a bandit!
75005 Rancor Pit - $59.99 MSRP - $37 final
76004 Spider-Cycle Chase - $19.99 MSRP - $10.47 final
76005 Super Heroes Daily Bugle Showdown - $49.99 MSRP - $30.80 final
76008 Super Heroes Iron Man vs. The Mandarin Ultimate Showdown - $12.99 MSRP - $8 final
60022 Cargo Terminal Toy Building Set - $99.99 MSRP - $38 final (got the last one!)
7239 Lego City Fire Truck - $22.99 MSRP - $14.07 final
LEGO Hero Factory Dragon Bolt - $19.99 MSRP - $12 final
79000 The Hobbit Riddles for The Ring - $12.99 MSRP - $8.80 final
I got a bunch of regular Hero Factory kits too for about $8 each, and I did buy duplicates of the Daily Bugle showdown, but at the end of the day I got $520 worth of Legos for slightly over $300 with tax.
I might do it again at another Kmart near my work, if my husband doesn't kill me....

Which Kmart was this in VA?
Thanks
Re: Kmart Additional 30% off Clearance Toys 2/16 - 2/22
I went to another Kmart about 12 miles away from the first one I went to and found absolutely NO legos on clearance, with many of the sets I found elsewhere only marked down at this store by 20% for a sale price. I scanned to see if anything was marked clearance, no luck.
Re: Kmart Additional 30% off Clearance Toys 2/16 - 2/22
Same for me, I went to a nearby Kmart and found zero clearance items. As someone who has just recently gotten back into legos as an adult, I find the price discrepancy between different stores in the same chain completely baffling. The lego economy is strange.Wheeefun wrote:I went to another Kmart about 12 miles away from the first one I went to and found absolutely NO legos on clearance, with many of the sets I found elsewhere only marked down at this store by 20% for a sale price. Re: Kmart Additional 30% off Clearance Toys 2/16 - 2/22
I hit up my local Kmart today after reading this post. I went to the one in Poughkeepsie (old south hill mall)...I figure this would help someone as I know, some of you on here are local to me
In the actual clearance section (toys) there were NO lego sets...so I went to the Lego section, none of them were marked clearance at all. So I de decided to start scanning...behold they were We were only on the lookout really for the LOTR, so we picked up set #9472 Attack on Weathertop for about $37. I bought just one, and there were 2 left. Also #79003 unexpected gathering was $43 or $44. Another set was $70, but I forgot what it was..Sorry. I didn't scan anything else, so I would def go Lego scanning as none of them were marked clearance at all.
I did also notice they had a ton of Series 11 minifigs, were they were still $2.99

I was really only looking for LOTR, especially the Unexpected Gathering, but not so much luck, so I consoled myself with the rest. The one I went to yesterday was Dale City, and I tried Annandale and Dale City again today, but no luck. Annandale had ZERO Legos on clearance, and Dale City was stripped. :-(

Thanks for the reply! I had actually gone to the Dale City one this Monday. I picked up the last unexpected gathering then (sorry). The others weren't low enough for me to bite on even at the additional 30%.

Haha! DAGGER! So close, yet so far!
It's the the justification I used to buy myself the Lego Rosie the Riveter t-shirt on teefury.com today though, so it's cool.

I was able to pick up an epic dragon for approx $75
Re: Kmart Additional 30% off Clearance Toys 2/16 - 2/22
Most of the Kmarts around here were still decimated from X-mas, but I did find a few things. I got a Hobbit unexpected gathering for $44, and they had a deal for rewards members that gave you $7 off if you spent more than $35, so that put it close enough to 50% off for me. I also got a Riddles for the ring for $6.30 and a TMTN Shredder bike for $15. At a different store I found a LOTR Blackgate for $37.80. There were only a couple of other sets, but no great bargains on anything else.
I don't think there will be much of anything left by the time the next 50% sale rolls around.

Re: Kmart Additional 30% off Clearance Toys 2/16 - 3/01
I was able to grab a few sets last week and they still had more.
Does anyone know if the clearance amount will progress to additional amounts off, say 50%?
