Pictures or it didn't happen lol! Good find.
I went to 3 TRUs today and didn't see any, but I will keep my eyes open.

Re: USA New LOTR sets at TRU
Is there any way to get the "R" Web number, either from the receipt (cuz of course you bought them, right?...RIGHT?!?!) or by getting a friendly and knowledgeable employee to scan it and tell you? it's the only way most TRU's will be able to tell if they have it in the back. It's a 6 digit number that works something like Target's DPCI.

Re: USA New LOTR sets at TRU
I took pictures of all of the tags so I could post here, but even with the current BOGO 50% + a $10 gift card on $40 it didnt seem like a good enough deal to buy anything given the markups, unless I am missing something.
I'll gladly email the photos to someone if you want to post them.
The digits below the title of the Black Gate are as follows:
6025205 then the barcode the a 1
the next line is 673419191982 and under the barcode is 81-4789
then the price of 69.99

Thanks very much, beartrapper25. I'll give it a shot.
Re: USA New LOTR sets at TRU
Found these at the local TRU. They look better in person! Can't wait till they're available for regular price. LOL
Re: USA New LOTR sets at TRU
Oh man, if I should see the Pirate Ship out at my local with this BOGO deal I don't think I can pass it up.
Even with their markup I can nab two ships for $90 each, keeping the total cost under MSRP even after local tax. Not the best of deals, but ship sets like these and Queen Anne don't typically sit on the shelves in my area waiting for a sale. Not to mention that this set has zombies, so to speak, and it's incredibly tempting even at TRU.
Add to that another "$10 giftcard w/$40 purchase" coupon and the Rewards points and it gets a little bit sweeter.
Pleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleaseplease be there!

Re: USA New LOTR sets at TRU
My TRU only had the new Castle and City sets. No new LOTR for me yet.

Re: USA New LOTR sets at TRU
I really love the look of the two larger sets, but seeing that Kmart will be carrying them as well without the markup + their legit rewards plan patience will certainly pay off here.
Re: USA New LOTR sets at TRU
Got lucky today! Found 3 of the 79008 Pirate Ships on the shelf, grabbed 2, confirmed they qualified for BOGO and ran for the register!
When all was said and done $119.99 + $59.99 = $179.98 or $89.99 each before tax PLUS a $10 giftcard with my coupon. My receipt does say the refund price would be $84.99 so if KMart can beat that in the next 90 days it looks like I've got some returning to do. Good thinking BearTrapper
Side note guys, TRU has sent me that "$10 giftcard w/$40 purchase" a total of 4 times and I've used every single one of them. Used them all with my same Rewards membership and didn't get denied once and several even had the exact same barcode number on it. They sent me another one today and I'm debating whether or not to go back as that coupon promo ends today.

Re: USA New LOTR sets at TRU
As a straight purchase its unlikely that Kmart will beat $84.99, but they often have coupons that print with purchases good for $10 in rewards for $50 in purchases.
Also with fathers day coming up I wouldn't be surprised to see another gift card promo like they had for mothers day. For every $25 in gift cards a $5 promo card usable the following week. Even with a limit of two per customer I was able to get $65 in promos.

Re: USA New LOTR sets at TRU
^^VERY YMMV. A cashier is more likely to let you roll the purchases over and over (as in: x many purchases of $40 in x transactions, scanning the same coupon for each one) but a persnickety by-the-letter manager may kill it on sight. I got lucky. Several times.

Re: USA New LOTR sets at TRU
My local TRU also has all 5 of the new castle sets, and all the new Galaxy Squad sets except the Galaxy Titan. Plus many other new sets slated for this year
Re: USA New LOTR sets at TRU
My local ToysRUs has all the new sets mentioned, even the new creator sets and probably others I wouldn't recognize. Everything but the one thing I was looking for, the Tonto Campfire poly. Bummer. Otherwise it's all way overpriced. I mean, I'm not sure what the official MSRP is for the Creator Tree House but $60 TRU? Really??
Re: USA New LOTR sets at TRU
I got lucky today and found the Black Gate and Wizard battle. I picked up the Jokers Fun House for my bogo.
Re: USA New LOTR sets at TRU
You're absolutely right, this is definitely a YMMV deal depending on the friendliness of your local employees. Tonight I used the last email coupon they just sent me yesterday I even ended up checking out with one of the managers! Surprisingly, he never said anything even though I redeemed a previous giftcard from the same promo and this is the second time I've redeemed that same coupon with this guy although he might not remember. Maybe all my friendly small talk has really paid off?brickarmor wrote:^^VERY YMMV. Yeah, Kmart's Rewards program is good one. I've got almost $100 in points saved up myself right now. I have found that stacking coupons/in-store promos is very YMMV, but that's pretty much the same with every retailer imo.beartrapper25 wrote:I really love the look of the two larger sets, but seeing that Kmart will be carrying them as well without the markup + their legit rewards plan patience will certainly pay off here.
