New LEGO Brand Store opening in Toronto

Yes, the Yorkdale store is now open as of this past Sunday (the 19th). I was there today and spoke with a few employees. The official grand opening is on the 31st, though they didn't mention any potential promo sets that might be available.

As for the store itself, it is slightly larger than the Sherway and Fairview stores. About the same depth, though slightly wider which help accommodate the massive lineups they'll surely have. In terms of product, they had the new Galaxy Squad sets, new Super Heroes sets (Iron Man 3, Man of Steel), the Lone Ranger and new Castle themes.

Like the rest of the mall, that store is gonna be a zoo on weekends lol

Attended the yorkdale opening and lineup is not as bad as other openings likely due to the soft opening. Got 3 chrome droids while in line (my wife, son, and daughter got them but not me!) and both the lego store set and jorel minifig with the $75 purchase and the yoda master buiding event brick. By the way opening time was 930am not 10am. Total time waiting outside to get in and waiting inside for check out was about 45min.

I'm in line to pay right now lol. Spoke to an associate and she said that with a $75, you can get the exclusive Lego Store set AND the Jor-El promo minifig. Bonus!

Fantastic! Got there 9:15. Was given TC-14 polybag for waiting in-line. It was 10:20 by the time i made it to the register and i got another 3 freebies; Jor-el polybag as per june promotion, Yoda duplo brick and limited edition store set.

I have got to make it out to more of these events. Thinking about going tomorrow again for the Toronto minifig set.

All in all a pretty good weekend.

Volunteered on Saturday at the Yoda build helping the Kids, got 2 of the mini store builds and then today got 2 of the minifig packs (#4 & #296).

This mornings line was minimal, still had the minifig sets at 5pm when we were passing through again as well.

Got a bunch of the TC-14's too.

Hmm what did one have to do to get the yoda duplo brick? We got the jor el and mini store set. No tc 14 - we came probably close to 11 am. Have they posted how many bricks in the giant yoda build yet?

I received a postcard in the mail 'inviting' me to celebrate their grand opening. All you had to do was bring in the postcard and show it to them to get the Duplo brick.
