Wal-Mart - No Friends Sets

I noticed that my local Wal-Mart has no Friends sets. I checked the entire toy dept. They used to be near the dolls.

Almost all of them went during the beginning of the clearance round up. I wonder if they will get phase 2 or just let Target deal in the line.

They're listed online including a preorder for the Friends Brickmaster.

Most of my local WMs still carry Friends set. Only one store I know of clearanced them out a couple months ago.

In the raleigh, nc area, about 1/2 of the stores stopped carrying the friends line. When i look on the map of which stores have/don't have, it's like every other location has them, as if strategically done.

Over on brickset, someone mentioned that Wal Mart doesn't want empty shelves, and due to Friends demand outpacing supply, they decided to drop Friends from stores that weren't selling as much as others, thereby freeing up supply for the stores that were selling more.

That would explain why at my local WalMarts, they never sold, were never clearanced, and just vanished without a trace at the last big reset. My local Kmarts haven't been able to get rid of any of theirs yet, I would say they haven't moved a single set in months from the look of things.
