Target Prices Climbing

Post by ezra » Wed Aug 22, 2012 11:41 pm

Just stopped by a local target. Spotted the usual City and SW polybags priced at 5.09. (they're usually 3.99 or 4.99)

Is this trend popping up at your locations too?

Seems to be the norm for everything atm, not just Lego.

It may just be that one Target. In my area, the Torrance, CA Target typically has higher prices for LEGO than other Targets in the area; I"m not sure why.

I have noticed that many Targets in the Los Angeles area have higher prices than in regions in Southern California... but prices have been going up in even more normal priced Targets :(

Yup, I mentioned this a couple of times already. Target is now pricing almost as badly as TRU, though mostly on older sets. Newly released sets are priced appropriately at MSRP.

I'm not really sure why they are doing this. Maybe because of the many frauds and thefts there recently, like the barcode bandit, the buy-steal-returns, etc?
