Re: 2012 Summer Sets on TRU
Those must be the CAN prices! Darn TRU and its special "tax".
Re: 2012 Summer Sets on TRU
The current $10 off $50 is working for some stuff. Not much help with these jacked up prices though.

Re: 2012 Summer Sets on TRU
5 dollars more than the MSRP on all the sets other than Mines of Moria. Not too bad with the 10 dollars off, but MoM is a whopping 20 more. WoW, I will wait for other places to get them in, thanks...

Re: 2012 Summer Sets on TRU
I couldn't get the $10 off to work on the LOTR or Monster Fighters anyway. If TRU start having them in store the coming week, I'd guess other stores will have them a week later or so. Then the Lego stores and site about a week after than, if it follows the trend of the minifigs. Otherwise Lego stores might wait till June 1st to have them out. I can't wait, only a little longer! I will be anxiously checking the stores that had the series 7 minifigs out early!

Re: 2012 Summer Sets on TRU
They have the 4 sets available and shipping out now that were originally listed in this thread, but no Helm's Deep or Attack on Weathertop strangely enough. They also don't have The Orc Forge, but I am pretty sure that's because it is a Target exclusive.
Not that it's a big deal imo. The Gandalf Arrives set is almost 30% more expensive at TRU, being 5 dollars over the 12.99 MSRP while the Mines of Moria is a whopping 20 bucks more!

Whoa. That's insane sticker shock on Gandalf Arrives. Over 20 cents per pieces if paying $17. They must have taken a $12 MSRP and added $5. At $12, it is somewhat comparable to Harry Potter 4865 The Forbidden Forest since you do get more pieces. Even with a B2G1 sale, it would be $11.33 each. Target will surely have it on sale many times for $11.

Re: 2012 Summer Sets on TRU
Ya, Gandalf Arrives is SUPPOSE to be $12.99 MSRP. That's not even the worst of it though, the Mines of Moria is a whopping 20 bucks more than MSRP.
I could go to Toys R Us and get Mines of Moria for 100 bucks, or I could wait a little bit and get the exact same set, along with Shelob Attacks for the same price. And Toys R Us wonders why they aren't doing so hot. I could see paying a couple bucks more on the more expensive sets, but 20-30% over MSRP is down right silly.

Not paying the TRU tax. If they have them, I'll look at them, and hold them, and talk to them. But back to the shelf they go.
Re: 2012 Summer Sets on TRU
Anyone know if this means LEGO.com will have these in stock on Sunday/next week? I'd love to pick up the LotR/Monster sets next week for the Hulk promo. Anyone know if they let you get a Hulk for every $50 you spend or will you have to order them seperately? It would almost be worth the extra $5 shipping every $50 just to get the extra Hulks, but would be much nicer to be able to lump them together and save on shipping as well.
Re: 2012 Summer Sets on TRU
How about $80 for Weathertop (which I believe is $50 MSRP) or $160 for Helm's Deep (which I believe is $130 MSRP). These are both now available for unbelievable prices as well.

Re: 2012 Summer Sets on TRU
Doesn't look like it's available anymore, or at least not on the new Lego sets.
Re: 2012 Summer Sets on TRU
That's nuts! 30 dollar markup on a 50 dollar set. Meanwhile the TRU nearest to me closed. The next one has a LEGO store opening across the street from them in a few weeks. Can't say I feel bad for 'em either when they pull stuff like this!sidersdd wrote:How about $80 for Weathertop (which I believe is $50 MSRP) or $160 for Helm's Deep (which I believe is $130 MSRP). Re: 2012 Summer Sets on TRU
Well, the Weathertop set is actually $59.99 MSRP, which is a 20 dollar mark up, but yes it's still insane. Most the cheaper sets (under 50) are marked up 4-5 bucks while the more expensive ones are all marked up $20-30.peanut wrote:That's nuts! 30 dollar markup on a 50 dollar set.
