[USA] LEGO Friends @ Target

Post by HBCoffin » Tue Dec 20, 2011 7:02 pm

Just thought I'd let anyone know who might be interested... went to Target yesterday and saw the following sets:

3932 - Andrea's Stage
3936 - Emma's Design Studio

I believe they were $9.99 each if, I remember correctly.

I've checked several Targets in Orange County, CA and no sign of these yet. I'm really hoping to track some down for my daughter and niece before Christmas. I also checked the LEGO Stores, but whether they have them or not, they won't sell them until the street date of 1/1/12.
Build with confidence by buying parts from our BrickLink store at http://www.DadsAFOL.com. Only store with instant shipping and payment options!

Target in Washignton DC had one set - Butterfly Beauty Shop (if I recall correctly). It was $25. Picked one up for my daughter from Santa!

I've struck out at two Targets. They have them, but they are tagged with a "street date" for when they are allowed to sell them. I've heard some people having success with Target workers helping them despite the restriction. Mine haven't been so leniant on following the rules. Good luck.

Doing the scanner check, looks like every local Target has every set - but none of them are out at most stores. Although I will add that at the DC store where I saw one set out, it was with the Duplo stuff in an aisle quite far away from the Lego sets, so folks may want to check out other aisles as well (including possibly girl/doll aisles and young child aisles).

A little off topic, but today while running around doing some last minute Christmas shopping I ran into Target (New Hartford NY) to see if any of the online clearance pricing had made it into the stores. To my surprise Lego had gone from both sides of the aisle, to bare bones on one side with a few sets dotted about it. Anyways for clearance they had: $10 off Atlantis Undersea Explorer 8080 @ $28ish, $5 off Ultimate Build Francesco 8678 @ $25ish, and $10 off Spinjitzu Dojo 2504 @ $40ish.

Online showed them, but they didnt show up in the handhelds at my target, although the employees were quite helpful to me.
Ill try tomorrow since they get another truck tomorrow.

Bloomberg Businessweek just had a cover story on Lego Friends. A VP mentioned that at Target, they will be introduced on an end-cap and then shelved with the girl oriented toys - not with the rest of the Lego.

That's after Target does their post Christmas reset. If any are hitting the shelves now, they could be anywhere in the Toy section, since right now they are trying to fill the shelves with anything available to close any gaps. As they start to mark down the items that will be on clearance you'll find some odd combinations in the aisles. Once the post-Christmas clearance is done, they'll start to lay out the aisles according to their new planograms, and that is when you are likely to see these end up in their final spot.

Went to Target today to do some Christmas shopping and perhaps sneakily squirrel one of the Friends sets in my shopping cart without my daughter seeing. As for the Lego aisle- pretty bare. The clearance aisles were stuffed with, well, stuff. A few sets in clearance, Cars 2 race car, atlantis big set, something else. They weren't marked down much. Pretty poor showing right now.

Thanks for the heads up though.

I went to 3 of the Targets in my area, but no luck. Plenty of Atlantis clearance items.

That's annoying! I saw them at one Target on an end cap, but the rest of the toy aisles were still a mess so it looks like the reset hasn't taken place.

I didn't see them at the second Target, and that store is really a mess. Everything is jumbled together.

I can confirm that they had their own little section on the girls' aisle at my Target. So if they don't have the sets you want on the endcap, try diving into the endless pink sections
