[US/CA] LEGO Superheroes - Available December 15

Post by Toys N Bricks » Fri Dec 09, 2011 8:19 pm

It appears that 6867 The Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape is not the only set LEGO Shop at Home (USA | Canada) listed. Most of the other January LEGO Superheroes 2012 sets are also listed with an expected availability date on December 15, 2011 (shown below). You can search the sets up to see additional pictures and descriptions for the sets. But the main point of this article is to point out the prices.

The good news is that Toys R Us did in fact mark up 6863 Batwing Battle Over Gotham City to $39.99 as LEGO is listing this set as $34.99. For Canadians, the prices for the Ultrabuild figures are much closer to the US prices than they were before (normally $19.99 CAD when sets are $14.99 USD).

Now the bad news is that LEGO continues to raise their "licensed battle pack" prices (6858 Catwoman Catcycle City Chase is now $12.99 USD / $15.99 CAD). If they keep this up, in a few more years, we'll start geting $20 battle packs!

LEGO 6857 The Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape ($39.99 USD / $49.99 CAD)
LEGO 6858 Catwoman Catcycle City Chase ($12.99 USD / $15.99 CAD)
LEGO 6863 Batwing Battle Over Gotham City ($34.99 USD / $44.99 CAD)
LEGO 6864 Batmobile and the Two-Face Chase ($49.99 USD / $64.99 CAD)
LEGO 4526 Batman ($14.99 USD / $17.99 CAD)
LEGO 4527 The Joker ($14.99 USD / $17.99 CAD)
LEGO 4528 Green Lantern ($14.99 USD / $17.99 CAD)

I found all of them except The Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escapee at my local TRU. The catwoman, batwing and two face chase sets were sold out, but the price tag was there. The batman, joker and green lantern hero factory type were there and they had more than 15 of each. Also found the 2 ninjago large sets...the boat and one that is like a snake truck...they had the booster packs that don't come with spinner too. The 2 spongebob sets were there too(bikini bottom party and ship)...and all cars sets like the one that comes with a fire truck and the oil rig something.

I got the spongebob set bikini bottom party $54.99 and the oil rig from cars $54.99 that qualify for BOGO 50% off with free clock.

Wow. The cat woman set is ridiculously expensive. The original set has larger pieces and more piece counts. This one has mostly 1x1 pieces and costs $3 more. And it's not too long ago either.

How did they come up with $34.99 for the batwing? For $5 more you get 2 more figures with the dynamic duo set. I guess the joker henchman will be highly in demand. It's a cool figure though. Reminds me of the classic Polynesian mf from the pirates theme.

Wonder how the superheroes battle packs will look like. I'll grab a bunch of those and avoid some of these sets. Way overpriced. I meant those that come with 5 minifigs, not the catwoman cycle set.

$13 for two figs and a small motorcycle? It should come with one - two more figs at that price. I don't know what, a police officer, security guard, pedestrian, something.

great minds think alike....sitting here at the computer while I have been on hold for the last 15 mins or so...Banking on usual awesome LEGO customer service....

UPDATE: of course my order has already "shipped" since it was placed 3 hours ago....BUT as usual LEGO customer service offered to place a new order for me and waive the shipping fee...as always LEGO does me right! Time to go back to work I guess....

superheroes sets were officially available @ the lego stores as of yesterday. i wasn't able to get there till mid-day and the only thing i was able to scoop up was the last 2 funhouses! :-D the only thing in stock was the batman, joker & green lantern "hero factory" type figures. it doesn't appear that these are very popular and probably not going to sell very well (that's all that remains on the shelf @ tru as well) i was told they would be getting another shipment of superheroes sets later in the week...hopefully that's true and i can get my hands on some more sets before xmas...

I ordered (and received a shipping confirmation) the Batcave from LEGO Shop at Home last evening. I called the 800 number and asked if it was in, and it was!
