Medieval market, death star and emerald night all have this designation. I don't know how I missed it as many times as I've looked at those pages :)

LOL we just look at the thing we want: The price =)

This info could be EXTREMELY valueable considering all the mentioned 'discontinued' sets are still available at S@H so this could be a great indicator of when things will be discontinued before actually being gone for good.
I have mixed feelings about new releases: I can't wait to see and get the new sets... but I can't figure out where I'm gonna put them or store them.

Yes...chasing down the "soon to be discontinued" sets is part of the hobby for me...I'm a deal shopper by nature so this helps a lot in getting prepared for the "big day" when a set goes on clearance at S@H, etc.

Now, if I could only find a way to avoid having to pop into the local Walmart every 3 days to find out when they are going to mark down the rest of their cache of lunar limo/star destroyers/fire helicopters then I'd be all set.

Wow - I can't believe I missed that wording too: "Discontinued by Manufacturer - Yes"
Thanks for the help. I have 2 Emerald Nights (great set), 1 Medieval Market Village, and 1 Death Star on the way. I will probably look to pick up a second Death Star if I can sneak the first one into the house without my wife seeing it!

LOL, that's what I do all the time.
I still have a 19" minifigure in my car's trunk and plan to hide it in the closet until time is right.
I'd like to pick up one Emerald Night Train this weekend from Amazon.

Only 20 Death Stars left at Amazon. I always enter 999 for quantity and hit update order. It will change it to what they have left. It said 21, so minus the 1 I ordered, there are 20 left. Get em while they're hot!!!!!!!!
Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?

That may just be people playing with the "add them all to cart" function...

No, it doesn't actually change until the purchase is made. There might still be time for someone to cancel an order though if they change their minds. Anyone care to volunteer....anyone? :D

Amazon is currently showing at least 100 Death Stars in stock. Bad news for the Rebel Alliance...

as of this moment, it appears the death star is in stock, but the medieval market is out of stock from amazon... you can pay $45 over MSRP to get it from someone else tho. :x

A little off-topic, but I wanted to respond to this comment.

My Walmart here in San Jose had about 4 of the lunar limo sets at the clearance aisle, as of last week. The price was $40, which is about 60% off. Very tempting, but I couldn't do it unfortunately. My advice is to check other walmarts nearby, because I visited 2 on the same day and both had different things in the clearance section. The clearance toy aisle is set up near the front side of the store at both the ones I went to. Must be all their stuff that didn't sell during the Christmas season.

But I'm thinking instead of burning gas and time, you can call on the phone with the bar code number and have customer service check the price in the computer for you. Wouldn't that work?

I think any seller can modify the Product Descriptions on products, so I wouldn't use the Discontinued Status as a hard/fast guideline.

Like others have pointed out, some clearly discontinued lines aren't marked as such. Lego works is such mysterious ways!

Funny stuff, I'm not quite that bad yet but give it time. I heard it from my wife tonight - you're obsessed with Legos. Hey, she's on Facebook all the time, so what if I check T&B every few hours? At least the kids benefit from my 'obsession'!

I've had my eye on the Medival Market for a while and this pushed me over the edge. I hate paying the MSRP but feel glad to in this case (bought one on S@H today). I can always tell myself/wife it's a business decision, since I can turn around and sell it for more in a year or so. Like any set has a chance of lasting that long in my house ;)
