Found a case at the Meijer store in Milford, OH today for $1.99 each with 15% off for using your Meijer Mastercard. Pretty good deal.

One of our local (Victoria, BC) WalMarts got Series 2 almost a month before the local TRU. This same WalMart also got them over a month before the 2nd local WalMart store, granted the 2nd store was moving into a new SuperStore space and probably had some stock availability complications.

Went to look for another set at TRU in Augusta, GA and they didn't have the set I wanted but they had Series 3 minifigures. They had 1 box and it was either picked through OR 39 or less people picked up a pack or 2 because there was only 21 packs remaining. At $3.99 per pack and only 21 packs the chances of getting all 16 was slim. I picked out nearly 6 different figures from what I could tell. I had somewhat good luck telling where the dots were due to the lights reflection but it's very hard to determine what's what. In any case I left with -zero- I couldn't justify $3.99 per figure. Disappointed at the markup.

I live near a Lego store that has a TRU and a Target near it, and I haven't seen any sign of CMF3s at any of these stores.

I was lucky to see them at TRU during the bogo event. So even at $2.99, I was able to get them for less than $2.25 with some coupons. I can tell you that they won't be at Target anytime soon because I haven't seen the price tag that they usually put on the shelves. Lego won't have them since they are releasing them in mid Jan per their calendar.

I think TRU is your best bet but at $3.99 I would hold off unless you plan to give them out for xmas.

Found 2 boxes of series 3 today at the Toys R Us in Murray Utah... one box was about half full by customer service and it looked like another full box behind the counter. $3.99 each... not worth it I think I'll wait and order from Lego or hope they show up at Target or Walmart cheaper.

My local TRU had about 6 boxes here in New Jersey. And at $3.99, they are just sitting there. I didn't even bother looking through them, I can't support that price.

Seriously thought about trying to find the few figs I'm really interested in, but -- like BrickUpdate -- I just can't get support that price (or deal with the crowds ;)).

To "soften" the price blow you could always buy 12 or 13 and it'll put you over 50 and then take advantage of the 10 off for over 50 purchase. Still a little pricey but it's always an idea.

Or you could rummage through them and get all 16 you want and when lego.com or whatever store has them cheaper you could return those random 16 back to TRU ... that way you pay reduced pricing but get the figs you want. That's if TRU lets you do a return lol.

It had crossed my mind, esp. since you can also get an additional 10% back through the Rewards promo, but the bulk of CMFv3 is just so 'meh' that even $2.90/fig (for 13) is hard to justify.

If that's the new price per figure at TRU then <fill in the blank with what you feel is profane> them! At least TRU.com still has them at $3.99, but that's if you're okay with that price. I'm still waiting LOL.
