TRU raised the price of 7848 by $10 for holidays?!?!

Well you can expect it to get worst. Last year, I remember they were selling SW battle packs for $16.99, hyena droid bomber for $29.99, echo base for $32.99 and a lot more other sets mark up insane.

They're selling the battle packs for $15 right now. Or at least they were last night when I checked.

I thought that set was "on sale" for $10 off $50. So now its $40 which is the retail price still.

I thought that set was "on sale" for $10 off $50. So now its $40 which is the retail price still.

I picked up this set up recently for $39.99 (reg price) Was thinking to get some of these for X-Mas gifts, a way of introducing some kids to Lego. But saw the price in the big book, then online at the updated (ripoff) price of $49.99! Will look for a different set of Lego's to pass out me thinks ))

It's the exact opposite. Erghhh...The only thing I can ever look forward to Toys R Us having are sets they've put out early. I can't believe they moved the prices up to the insane level.

tru loves scalping during the christmas season. price should fall in jan.

I was lucky to get wind of this the week before it took effect. And that week was B1G1 50% off. So I was able to get two for $60. $30 for this set feels like the right price. I would have never bought at the $40 level and certainly not higher.

It seems like the the yellow truck is on its way out since both Target and TRU are heavily discounting it at $25-$26.

Its always like this. Jacked up prices and then once christmas is gone, prices goes back to normal toysrus prices. Then there would be no lego for sale for 2 months as they do their inventory count.

This is very similar to what TRU of Canada did to the 6212 X-Wing. If I remember correctly, before the holiday season, it was $79.99 CAD, but they jacked up the price up to $84.99 a couple of weeks before the Holiday Toy Book, where it's on sale for only $74.99!

Actually, the x-wing got jacked up earlier this year. I don't find that TRU here in the north jacks up prices as much as the south. At least all the harry potter sets at TRU are msrp. TRU is not the only one jacking up prices. Look at Zellers and London Drugs.

TRU's jack ups are pretty equal to other stores. Take a look at some of their prices. I think TRU had a bad image in the states which caused people in Canada to think that its the same here. But the jack ups are not as ridiculous as many of us thought.
