[CAN] Cad bane's Speeder spotted at Zellers $39.99

Ok, so I was in the Zellers in Barrie today and they have some of the new Star Wars sets in. Imagine my surprise when I see Cad Bane's Speeder on the shelf!

Imagine my even bigger surprise when I see the price sticker beneath it says $39.99. I looked twice to make sure that they just weren't sitting in the wrong spot, and it definitely said $39.99 which BTW was the same price that shop@home was selling them for the first couple of weeks before putting the price back up to $64.99.

I wasn't able to confirm that was the scanned price, since the scanner was, as usual in Barrie, not working when I tried it.

LEGO initially may have sent the $39.99 MSRP price info to Zellers and they haven't correct the price back to $64.99 yet. (similar to LEGOShop.com)

Thx for reporting your discovery. The deal is quiet tempting. However, I considered passing this when I first saw it coz' it was not impressive. Besides, even the price is down to $39.99. The price per piece is still as high as 12.58c

I like the way you think (10 cents a piece forever!). However, since the Speeder is supposed to be $65, you are only going to get a better price per piece if Zellers does a BOGO, and I'm not expecting one of those until November, and the price could be corrected any time.

My Zellers just got tons of new Lego in and even have the games. I also got the army men on patrol for $7.5 yesterday. :)

My friend could not find any bane's speeder from North Vancouver and Burnaby Zeller.

I found one yesterday in Mississauga, Ont at the Dundas and Wolfdale location. It was mixed in with some other sets on the bottom shelf. Typical for Zellers. I didn't see any others, but I stopped looking when I found one. It's possible that there are more since the section was a disorganized mess.

After MSRP of SW set has been gone up this year, I understand that it is hard to get a SW set at 10c per piece. We all suffer from the fact that 2009 Republic Attack Shuttle has 240 more pieces than 2010 ARC-170 but their MSRP are the same. If I had no choice to pay more than 10 cents a piece for a SW set, I would consider to take it only if it is worth. Yes, a set that is worth or not is very subjective; however, my choice would always rely on if contents of a set have ever shown up in the movie. For example, 8096 8097, 8089 Hoth series, and 8095(this is clone war version but I don't have any Grievous minifigure, and surprisingly Nahdar Vebb & EV-A4-D Droid coming with the set)

This speeder is now available at North Vancouver, B.C. too. Due to the BOGO 1/2 price deal , the price is now too tempting. I finally picked it up today. I got the Buzz's Star Command Spaceship as well, so that I could take the full advantage of BOGO. :D

A lady whom I met in Zeller picked up two boxes after I told her the speeder is below MSRP.

I am pretty sure (since I bought both) that the set on sale at Superstores isn't Cad Bane's speeder, it is the Separatist Shuttle (which imho is a cooler build, with the sliding doors at the back). I've only heard of the speeder being on sale (well, mispriced) at Zellers.

Hoho...just visited Oakridge Zellers @ Vancouver and there were over 30 boxes of them. THIRTY!!!
