For some reason I could not find an official photo from LEGO. It also was not listed on this month's calendar for some reason. Thankfully I took a photo with my phone. I really like this one!

I agree, this is one of the nicer mini builds.

an LBR employee told me that from this point forward, MMMBs will not be listed in the calendars. they will continue to do them, but in an effort to keep the crowds down, this will just be one of those "secret" things. :)
not really a secret at all, but hopefully it will make the crowd management easier for the stores.

Looks good enough to eat.
Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?
Re: LEGO Gingerbread House - December 2014 Mini Model Build
The January Calendar lists the date and model for next month's MMMB. That said, the December one didn't, so maybe it will be on the calendar for months where business is slow.doodlebird wrote:an LBR employee told me that from this point forward, MMMBs will not be listed in the calendars. they will continue to do them, but in an effort to keep the crowds down, this will just be one of those "secret" things. :)

This is the first one that has ever made my eyes pop. Too bad it is so far away.

haha! you are correct! it wasn't on Nov. 2014 either IIRC. guess they just took a little break to keep folks away during the holiday madness?vynsane wrote:

The only thing we can all agree on is that LEGO Store Employees are pretty good at spreading misinformation about the MMMB

People act like the store employees know more than the rest of us, like the talk to the CFO or something. They now nothing besides what they read online.vynsane wrote:The only thing we can all agree on is that LEGO Store Employees are pretty good at spreading misinformation about the MMMB
I like it, simple and fun, plus it has a toilet seat and an ice cream. :)

No one would happen to have an extra they would be willing to trade, would they? I don't have any mini builds, but have several polybags, etc. Thanks!

My daughter built the ginger bread house today, and said it was her favourite mini build so far. I'm going to turn it into a Christmas tree ornament.
Re: LEGO Gingerbread House - December 2014 Mini Model Build
definitely one of the better builds this year. I don't think it was that crowded either. They had plenty of left over sets.
Re: LEGO Gingerbread House - December 2014 Mini Model Build
I noticed that the January "Club" meeting involves building that month's MMMB with some "extras". $10 fee. Now they are charging for it as well. Not sure why you would pay $10 when you can get it for free, unless you are unavailable on the Tuesday. Now the Club meeting has totally gone down the tubes!
jmeninno - the pieces are all very common, you probably could pull one together with pieces you have or pick-a-brick it.

Re: LEGO Gingerbread House - December 2014 Mini Model Build
club meetings used to be $25, $20 for VIP members. you get to take home a tee shirt and usually a small / tiny set of some sort + a coupon in the roughly $5 range. not bad for $20. but with the price drop to $10, i'd imagine they are getting rid of all or part of the previous take aways.atmail35 wrote:I noticed that the January "Club" meeting involves building that month's MMMB with some "extras". $10 fee. you didn't used to be able to take home your creation, but now you can… so there's that change. as i work most saturday mornings, i only get to take my kids about once a year.
Re: LEGO Gingerbread House - December 2014 Mini Model Build
Appreciate the reply, atmail35! I was noticing that on the instructions for it, but I don't have some of the brown/tan elements, nor the life preserver. I'm going to watch ebay and see if I can get it cheap. Kind of stinks in a way because I think I have some of those studs...maybe I'll end up bricklinking those pieces...
Re: LEGO Gingerbread House - December 2014 Mini Model Build
Yes, supposedly they've done away with the t-shirts and now you pay $10 (instead of $25/$20) and get advance access to the next month's MMMB and a small PaB cup.atmail35 wrote:I noticed that the January "Club" meeting involves building that month's MMMB with some "extras". $10 fee. I ended up picking up two of these on ebay. Would be willing to trade the other for the monkey minibuild. Private message me if interested!
