TRU Bricktober Promotions

This looks a little more interesting than previous years with the minifig sets - minimodulars:

LEGO, it's not just a toy, it's an addiction... ;)

I think I read rumors somewhere that it was a "detective agency". Fancy name for "police station"?

Although "detective agency" could mean a Private Investigator office, which would be pretty awesome...

Maybe it's a modular with multiple themes, like the Pet Shop that also had apartments. Maybe there's a Detective Agency above a Pizza Shop...

Pretty cool compared to the lame minifigures from last year. The key is how much we have to spend to get them. \

Anyone know when this starts? I don't see any mention on their site and it is October.

I saw the first one on the shelf the other day for $19.99, so you may be able to buy them outside of the promotion.

Agree! Even at $20 they seem overpriced. Mini-figures drives sales these days, not the pieces.

Last Tuesday I received the TRU Oct sales booklet and it came with a 20% discount card on a regular price item, starting today Oct 3. I did not read all the exclusion and went to TRU to get a Trevi Fountain which is surprisingly at MSRP. When I went to check out the associate tried the card and she told me that it’s not valid on the item, pointing out to me that part of the exclusion from the coupon are Lego.

Not hot Items or hard to find, but all Lego.

To me, this is the first time I have encounter this situation. I wonder if TRU will keep most of their Lego items at MSRP but will exclude them from their 20% offers henceforth; which are not many anyway.

I like the sets and I would buy them if they were available individually. I priced one of the sets on the lego pab site and it came out to over $25 (I'm sure you could do better on bricklink). I went looking for them at several TRUs in the area but none had them for sale. I don't think I'll buy sets at TRU markup just to get them but I'd buy them separately.

Considering they're all over the Golden Ratio, I won't. I'm just letting people know who might want to get them without having to lay down $75.00
