how many LEGO Stores have you been to?
how many LEGO Stores have you been to?
Whenever I'm traveling, I try to pop in to a LEGO Store - even if I'm not intending to buy anything. I was curious about how many I've been to and, from what I can recall, it's now up to 9. I also was curious about how many grand opening events I've attended, and that's now 3:

Never been to the Vancouver store despite living in a suburb of Vancouver since it's such a hassle to drive there. I buy most of the big sets in Calgary to save 7% sales tax.

Just the Bellevue WA one for now. I am going to try to visit the Seoul one in Oct. I think I saw one opening there this year so hopefully it is open by then.
Is there much difference between each store? I'm curious about the PAB wall.

Just the three in Toronto. So far.

Of those I've been to, the only two that weren't the same 'standard' footprint were the Rockefeller Center store and the one in Chicago. Chicago's is about twice the size of the 'standard' footprint whereas Rockefeller Center is a rather oddly shaped space that probably roughly equates to the same square footage of a standard footprint store.byroads73 wrote:Is there much difference between each store? The new flagship in Flatiron District in NYC (reported to be opening mid July with a grand opening in August) is supposedly going to be quite immense.
The PaB walls vary slightly from store to store, with the more trafficked stores getting more choice of pieces to stock, from what I've heard.

Re: how many LEGO Stores have you been to?
I'm the same way with breweries...the count was at 60 something before I stopped counting
I have only been to 1.5 Lego stores. The one Lego store in Oregon...and when visiting family in San Diego I went to Legoland for free for an hour to shop at the stores there (if that counts? I think it's worth 0.5 ...that's a thing. You buy a ticket and they refund your money so you can shop...but you only get an hour).
...and the Lego store in Oregon is almost 4 hours away.
Edit: I don't feel the need to go to other Lego stores really because they are all more expensive since I'd have to pay tax. I'm spoiled in Oregon.

Re: how many LEGO Stores have you been to?
I travel a bit for work, and I always try to get to a Lego store when I do (especially because Lego in the US looks really cheap compared to Canadian prices). Back when there were fewer Lego stores (and getting through airport security didn't suck as much) I would actually intentionally give myself a long layover in Minneapolis so that I would have time to get to the Mall of America to do some Lego shopping before heading home. Now I don't have to do that because there is often a store at my destination.
It looks like I have been to 18 different stores, which are:
Calgary, Canada
Downtown Disney, California
Fashion Valley, California
Glendale Galleria, California
Hillsdale Shopping Centre, California
South Coast Plaza, California
Stoneridge Shopping Center, California
The Shops at Mission Viejo, California
Westfield Topanga, California
Westfield Valley Fair, California
Colorado Mills, Colorado
Park Meadows, Colorado
Downtown Disney Marketplace, Florida
Orland Square Mall, Illinois
Woodfield Mall, Illinois
Mall of America, Minnesota
Crabtree Valley Mall, North Carolina
Northpark Center, Texas
I was hoping to get to one or more of the stores in Toronto the last time I was there, but unfortunately the timing just didn't work out. On my summer vacation I'll get to the store at Fashion Place in Utah for number 19. I have no idea where or when number 20 will be.

Re: how many LEGO Stores have you been to?
Only 1 store, Troy, MI. Did attend grand opening, and helped build buzz.
I hope to get to Columbus this summer to visit my bro, and will go to the one there if I do.

Re: how many LEGO Stores have you been to?
I've been to all 4 stores in IL, plus retail store at legoland discovery center also in IL.
Re: how many LEGO Stores have you been to?
Fun thread! My count is 6 plus LEGOLAND, CA, which I guess isn't bad since I've only been actively shopping for LEGO since 2009.
Braintree, MA
Burlington, MA
Natick, MA
Peabody, MA (Grand Opening)
Downtown Disney, Orlando, FL
Downtown Disney, Anaheim, CA
LEGOLAND, CA
My daughter has been to all of the above, in addition to Rockefeller Center, NY

Surprising number now that I think about it...all the American ones are only because of a trip (none of which I paid for, long story).
Toronto, Ontario (Canada)
- Fairview Mall
- Sherway Gardens
- Yorkdale Mall
Miami, Florida
- Aventura Mall
New York, New York
- Rockfeller Center (Note: Not surprisingly, this locations sells sets at ABOVE retail price.)
- Queens Center (Elmhurst, NY)

Re: how many LEGO Stores have you been to?
I have been to:
- Cincinnati OH
- Indianapolis IN
- Nashville TN
- Birmingham AL
- Downtown Disney Orlando, FL
- LegoLand Florida Stores
I think that is all. Trying to make it to more.
Some have great clearance deals, some never have much of anything on clearance. :)
I can say this, I know you can get better deals than Lego Store on release day, but there is just something about waiting in line for the store to open to get: - Ewok Village, UCS X-Wing and UCS Sandcrawler. Makes you feel like Everything is Awesome!

The only grand opening I've been to was the DE store a couple years back. I think the freebie was a cargo plane, if I remember correctly, to commemorate (I assume) the Dover Air Force base.
