Hey guys! I usually buy Legos for my kid for him to play with but I saw an ad in the local classified for new sealed City sets for sale at around 30 to 50% off retailed price depending on the set. These are the sets:
60004 - Fire Station
60008 - Museum Break-in
60014 - Coast Guard Patrol
60022 - Cargo terminal
60046 - Helicopter Surveillance
60047 - Police Station
4207 - City Garage
Do you think any of these sets are worth buying (for investement)
Thanks!

Re: Lego City sets, worth buying?
Sets with airplane's tend to do well, post retirement. So you might consider the 60022. The rest are standard fare. For example, compare the ebay/bricklink 'sold' prices for 7240 (2005), 7945 (2007), and 7208 (2010) to gauge how well 60004 might do.
unless the discount is spectacular, there are probably better places to put your money.

That's what I was thinking too, thanks for the reply.

I think the museum might be a good bet as it comes with a different building, which, at least in my opinion, is always looked favorably upon

police station - they release this type of set every year and every christmas a city police station set is one of the hot / popular toys for gifts. ebay can get you $120-$150 during christmas but only when supplies are low during christmas so if you can get the set for $70, you can make about $38-65.
