A good contest idea. This one will probably boost membership as well as activity. I'm generally active anyways because I'm always looking for more LEGO news so I can plan accordingly for what sets I want to purchase (new sets being released, reviews by different people, etc.)

... but it can lead to post-padding... :?

How do you quantify 'quality' posts? Is there a word-length threshold before which your post is not considered? If I am skilled in transmitting my thoughts with brevity, am I not eligible?

I think that this is just going to have to be something that you trust the moderators and administrators with. I don't think that a word-length threshold is going to be something that is required but if most of your posts end up being 'oh good idea' or 'I like this,' I somehow doubt they'll qualify and would be what you called post padding.

Hope this helped : )

I agree with the above and appreciate the opportunity to participate. I don't have any mini-figures yet, although 5 bags are on the way from lego.com. Anyone know when Wave 2 are due to hit?

Wave 2 is reportedly due to hit 2 months after the release of the first wave. So respectably July in Europe and the rest of the world and August for the US, although of course they could always be released earlier due to stores selling earlier than they should.

I was mainly kidding about the 'quantifying quality' thing - that's an ages-old conundrum, though one of the pinnacle works on the matter is 'Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance'. ;)

Also, we're discussing series 2 here.

This is a courtesy reminder that theres only half a month left before our Top Contributor Contest close. These rare LEGO Collectable Minifigures are in high demand and sold out in most places. If you have any questions, just posted them here!

So far, it seems that these members are the top 5 contributors.
