My Entry in the Holiday Contest:

Black Friday at the Big Box
It is Black Friday at the local "Big Box" superstore! Outside, people started to line up early, and a lucky few made it in before the police stopped by to make sure all is peaceful.

Inside, chaos spreads as everyone races to get their prizes. The Big Box employees are doing their best to keep it all under control.

Looks as though someone got there a bit too late!

This is my entry in the Toys N Bricks 2011 Holiday Lego Building contest. This is made from 608 Lego pieces.

It is Christmas morning and it is time to open some presents! This little vignette has 248 pieces. I hope it is okay if I used some parts from the Winter Toy Shop.

Little Jimmy doesn't seem too happy with the present his grandparents gave him. While his brother, Thomas is enjoying his new RC train set.

I've only been buying LEGO since this summer, I have very few to work with, but wanted to have fun with this contest anyway. Most of what I have is very random stuff from two bags I found at yard sales, and so this is what I came up with:

Rupert's Christmas Junkyard by sydra53, on Flickr

Title: Rupert's Christmas Junkyard
Piece count: 288
With the rough economy this year, there's just no budget for decorations. So Rupert decides to use whatever he can find lying around the junkyard to make things a bit more festive! From the bathtub turned sleigh to the 3 wise mannequins, the possibilities were endless!

It's a typical medieval Christmas, and It has 781 LEGO pieces. It took me 3-5 hours to build.

Enjoy!

I spent a good part of last weekend trying to figure out what to build and then even more time actually building it. I figure I would make a matching set to continue with the Winter Village theme.

Winter Candy Shop
523 pieces

Here is the front of the store. Every purchase gets a child a free picture with Santa Claus!

Rear view. The lady takes her candy to the cashier to be weighed while her husband picks out more candy. Upstairs, the chocolatier prepares new products for the holidays. The chocolate frogs are sure to be a hit!

Thanks guys! I had a lot of fun building it. It's funny how you're never really done with a MOC. Even now I'm thinking of ways I can improve on it :-)

Good luck to everybody!

Here is my entry for the Holiday building contest. It is a ski slope with a snowboarder, and a skiier stuck headfirst in the snow! Santa and Rudolph have landed on the cabin roof, and Santa is on his way down the chimney. Someone is cutting a Christmas tree while someone else shovels the walk. I used 465 pieces.

The Pub.

A warm, cozy, intimate place to gather after hours. Tried to get that traditional stone and brick with vines and other brush. The pub was built almost exclusively with pieces from the winter bakery set. (exclusions are: barrels and taps, yellow translucent pieces on the lamps, greenery "vines" on the chimney exterior, minifigs+utensils, and 6 or so white pieces needed to finish off the roof).

Threw in the dog sledder for kicks. Sled made with pieces from the winter village post office vehicle and gazebo.

Used 476 pieces.

Here is my entry in the Holiday Building Contest, the Living Nativity. Tourists from all over Legoland flock to the living Nativity, where Citizens of Legoland act out scenes from the Christmas story. In this vignette, representing the birth of Jesus, the narrator tells the story to a crowd of eager attendees, while Mary and Joseph attend to the baby. They even got a real LEGO camel this year, cool!

There are approximately 260 pieces used.

Hi. My first MOC. It's not big but I didn't have much to work with. The little girl is trying to get proof that Santa exists. I used 185 pieces of Lego from the Log Cabin, last year's Advent calendar and the Traveller's camera. Thanks for looking.

My entrie is colled - "Oh come, All ye faithfull"
On the first picture people are gathering into the church to celebrate the birth of Jesus. I tried to do this model as similar as possible (for me) to the real church in Tomsk (here is the link to the picture of it - http://flic.kr/p/5V9Hki" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
On the second picture we see the very first worshipers of the newborn Christ, shepherds and magi, who enter into the very first church.
Number of bricks is ap.900

contest 007.jpg
P.S. This the time of the year when we practically do not see the daylight. So it is a real challenge to make a good pictures with simple camera and dead batteries (if I have time, tomorrow I will try to make it better).
P.S.S. sorry for possible errors in my post, we do not speak English in Siberia very often :)
