Set#: 76023
Name: The Tumbler
Theme: DC Comics Super Heroes
Year: 2014
Pieces: 1869
Minifigs: 2
Brick Seperator: yes
Price: US $199.99 / CAN $229.99 / UK £159,99
The Box:
The first thing I thought when I got this set was how huge the box is. (about 18" x 23" x 5")
Note that this is the european packaging so the piece count isn't displayed on the box.
The Pieces:
There are two sticker sheets and five Instruction books.
This set comes with 18 bags numbered 1 through 11.
Instead of taking pictures of all the pieces like I usually do I decided to just show the parts inventory in the instruction manual.
The two smaller of the tires are unique to this set, the four larger tires are only found in two other sets.
A few new technic pieces.
The pieces that hold the tires on are designed to hold a lot more weight than most axles.
Once these pieces are snapped together they are difficult to separate.
The Minifigures:
Even though this set is nowhere near minifig scale it includes exclusive versions of Batman and the Joker. Batman's design is based of his armor from the Batman Begins movie.
Both minifigs include back printing.
The Build:
After finishing #1 bags you have the basic frame.
Not sure what the cylinders are for since they get covered up later and I couldn't find them in any reference pictures from the movie.
The interior completed.
Front windshield complete with wipers.
Wheels and side windows installed.
I believe that the grey pieces on the side are pistons although they should have been black.
And finally the Tumbler is complete. The dimensions of the finished model are 15" x 9". The roof panels are not attached so they can easily be removed to show off the interior.
Placard and minifig display stand.
Extra pieces.
Conclusion:
DESIGN 9/10 - It seems well made and very accurate to the movies with a few minor flaws (grey pistons)
BUILD 10/10 - A wide variety of building techniques are used and at no point did the build feel mundane. The pieces being split into 11 sections made it much easier to build in a limited space.
MINIFIGURES 9/10 - The designs of both figures are exclusive to this set.
PLAYABILITY 5/10 - Many of the outer panels are attached by only a few studs and so are fragile. Of course this set wasn't designed as a playset but it does include minifigures so someone might be mislead when looking at the box.
PARTS 7/10 - Some of the largest wheels ever made by LEGO. Lots of black pieces (And very very dark grey) and. There are a few pieces that are exclusive to this set but most are very common.
PRICE 8/10 - At 1869 piecesThe PPP comes out to just over 10.7 cents.
OVERALL 8/10 This set makes an amazing display piece if you have enough shelf space. Definitely a must-buy for any Batman fan.

Great review. I got to touch it a few weeks ago. It did feel a bit fragile for playing. Definitely works best as a display model.

Nice review. Too bad it isn't more playable, or stronger. It is a very interesting design.
