Ninja Castle

Post by josephliyen » Sat Jun 22, 2013 8:51 pm

I really liked the Ninjago Fire Temple so I decided to create my own version using elements from that set. The results are as follows:

Lightning Ninjutsu, I used the 4 NRG ninjago minifigs for some MOC ninjutsu designs.

a different angle of the lightning battle with the castle slid out.

this white ninja has a skeleton face, while the red one is a lady.

Since I have so many torii (literal translation bird's nest) around the castle, I thought having these chima birds as on the top of the castle is very setting.

Water Ninjutsu, This NRG Zane is my favorite fig out of all of them, and I loved the look of the ice bricks, so I have been thinking about how to use these in a set and I think they turned out well. I used the lightning sword instead of the ice sword for the blue color, the clear color just doesn't seem right here.

For the fire jutsu I used 4 90 degree plates and locked them into a square that has studs on all 4 sides. Then I just went crazy and used all the fire pieces I have. I got him to stand on a red light brick to add some effects, and a ring of fire on his back.

Showdown of water and fire. In this photo you can see I removed the third floor. It is designed to slide out and allow more light into the interior.

the kanji prints on this black kunoichi's torso says "spinning ninjutsu", so I put her on a rotatable disc and stuffed her limbs up with weapons. the torso and legs are from sensei wu in the FT set. It's one of my favorite ninjas in this MOC. notice the Sais on her feet.

Hidden door into the castle. This was very difficult to achieve as using normal bricks will lock the door frame down and doesn't allow rotation. I had to use plates with 90 angle plates to allow the movement.

This tree has many little gimmicks in it, ninjas can stand upsidedown on it as well. Pink studs were used to add some cherry blossom feel to the tree, but I didn't have enough to overload it properly.

bunshin no jutsu! (performing a shadow clone move to confuse the enemy)

2 kunoichi (female ninjas) utilize long range weapons to counter the bunshin no jutsu ninja, with a third kunoichi sneaking behind him.

In the midst of intense battle, this guy is pretty chill.
Image

but not as chilled as sensei wu having a drumstick on top of the tree while everyone else duke it out.

the tree can break in the middle and act as a bridge to invade the castle.

Sensei Wu is still enjoying his chicken. I think he just wants to get into the castle to find more food.

Earth Ninjutsu by NRG Cole. I am very happy with how this particular move turned out, by using the leafs, I was able to rotate the earth walls at an angle and a slant that are usually difficult to achieve with lego. The clear piece is to provide some structure for the debris looking walls.

a shot of the indoor battle scene. the focus is on the lit fire booby trap. The right side of the castle slides out similarly to the original fire temple design.

The third floor can be completely detached and slide out to allow easier access to the inside.

Thank you for watching, too bad she doesn't bow.

That's an excellent model. How many Fire Temples did you use as a basis for it?

Thanks for the compliments. I had a total of 3 sets of FT (temple only partial sets to save some money) and 2 sets of Temple of light, plus additional windows off bricklink.

Agreed. Very impressive indeed. I wish I could MOC like this. I just wish you had used a better background other than the boxes in your living room :) Then it would have been truly beautiful.
