Minifigure Displays: Harry Potter

Post by dho7622u » Fri Aug 08, 2014 10:23 am

Hey all,

sorry I have been a little MIA the past year but bought a house and haven't had much time to either work on Lego or my Lego room (sadly, Charlotte thinks that finishing the Kitchen and two baths are more important... :???: )

Anyway, had a little time recently and decided to finally sort out my Harry Potter Official/ Custom Minifigures and make a Lego built display case with some shadow boxes from IKEA. It is very useful in that I can expand as I organize and develop the collection. And, since the frames can slide out (technic beams are used for catches), I can easily access and re-arrange! I have two more of these BAS frames (c. 2009) so can get my mythical creatures and my original series in one as well.

along with some Collectable Minifig cases I made out of Jewelry cabinets.

Have a great weekend and hope to be able to contribute more this year!

I like it, very thematic. Nice incorporation of non-Lego elements.

Wow! It's lovely and I really like your use of those pins to keep the frames in place.

Thanks, DSJ! It only took a bit of maneuvering. I think because both LEGO and IKEA are Euro companies, the metric measurements tend to be similar, proportionately. It is the same with the (no longer with us) Expedit bookshelf which fit a large baseplate perfectly.

Great idea! Love the idea of using technic parts as a latch. Great looking display!

You have given me some great ideas on how to display all my old pirate figures!

Now that is the way HP minifigs should be displayed!

Well done.
