Here's How to Make a Bookshelf

Post by JustBrickin » Sat Jun 28, 2014 8:05 am

Its a simple design but wanted to put this here in case there are those who want to make this. I put it in basically 4 steps and did a lot in one pic because I don't want to take up a lot of space here and don't have a youtube channel to share this.

Here's what it looks like with Emmet("Awesome!"):

The Parts: 46 pieces

I'll list them in case it's hard to see:
(3x) 2x6 brown plates
(1x) 2x4 brown plate
(2x) 2x3 brown plates
(8x) 1x2 brown bricks
(4x) 1x4 bricks (it can be any color if it's against a wall, saving pieces w/ colors you don't have much of)
(4x) 1x4 brown flat plates
(4x) 1x1 brown cheese slopes
(18x) 1x2 plates (random colors; the more diversity, the better)
(2x) 1x2 flat plates (random colors; the more diversity, the better)

Step 1: The Bottom Half

Step 2: The Top Half

Step 3: The Books

Step 4: Putting it Together

The books fit in snug!

Hope this helps some builders out there! :-D

What a cool look, and thanks for including all the details. I'm going to print this out, pick out the right pieces, including an appropriately studious minifig, and put everything in a ziplock bag for my 5-yr old to make. Kind of like a home-made polybag!

You're welcome! I'm glad you like it!

And the homemade poly bag sounds like a great idea!!!

I really like the detailed simplicity of this. It's giving me ideas for other potential uses as well. Thanks!

Yup. No problem! I enjoyed doing this and the bed. I look forward to doing more!
