LEGO Hockey Arena
I made a LEGO Hockey Arena. Everything is LEGO except for the hockey players, which are my son's OYO minifigs. The arena holds 192 spectators. It was really tedious to make & seat them all! There are working doors for the Zamboni and for the penalty boxes & player's benches. I designed shirts for the refs and printed them out on photo paper before attaching them to the minifigs.
website. Thanks for looking! (And keep the comments about the Buffalo Sabres to yourself! It isn't easy to be a Buffalo sports fan… )

Re: LEGO Hockey Arena
Nice hockey arena. Do you have more images for the arena?
Your zamboni is neat, too. It seems not hard to build, may be I should build one like yours in Canucks pattern.
Hockey players from CMF series 4 could possibly be a best fit to your build. Hopefully, TLG could put another team of hockey player in future CMF.

Yes…there are many more pics in the Gallery tab here. I also did a post just about the Zamboni a few days ago which you can see here.
Unfortunately we only bothered to get 1 hockey minifig from season 4 when they were released. They're a bit pricey to try and collect now. I wish LEGO would release teams sets of the hockey & baseball figures.

Incredible! Thank you for sharing. I feel like I'm playing Genesis in 1991!
Re: LEGO Hockey Arena
Nice ... my only critique is that you used the wrong emblem on the floor!
Go Flyers!

This is a great build! This looks like one of those models you'd see at Legoland!

Nice job. Looks like a lot of work went into that. I think my favorite part is how the seats are arranged in a curve around the corners of the ice. How are those OYO minifigs?
Re: LEGO Hockey Arena
That's amazing. Love the details on the floor. Even the goal is great. Is the LEGOland sticker a custom?

Re: LEGO Hockey Arena
The seats were tricky. My first thought was to use a 2x2 turntable, but that made the seats too wiggly. Instead I put a 1x1 round stud under some 2x2 plates, which gave me the ability to curve the rows.Mantisking wrote:Nice job. Looks like a lot of work went into that. The OYO are neat. The custom printing is great, but some of the wrist joints are a little loose. And it's really tricky to get them to balance on those skates! I like the LEGO skates better, actually.

Re: LEGO Hockey Arena
Thanks very much! The LEGOland sticker came from the soccer arena set LEGO released a long time ago. I used a bunch of the advertising stickers from that set on my boards.StClair wrote:That's amazing. Love the details on the floor. Even the goal is great. Is the LEGOland sticker a custom?

Ouch! We stick with the hometown team even when they finish last, because next season HAS to be better! (And fortunately we spend our money on LEGOs instead of season tickets! )Slickson wrote:The only problem I see is that you are a Sabres fan

Great job! I'm going to send a link to family who used to live near Buffalo & were huge Sabre fans!
