21108 Ghostbusters Official LEGO Set Box Images

BrentWaller's Ghostbusters creation was announced earlier this year that it will be made into an official LEGO product. He has now received a copy of the official 21108 LEGO Ghostbusters set. The set on the left was the creation that he submitted to LEGO Cuusoo while the product with the box on the right is the official LEGO product designed by LEGO Senior Designer Marcos Bessa.

21108 LEGO Ghostbusters will be available for purchase in June 2014 for USD $49.99 / CAD $59.99. Below is a picture for the back of the box.

So, is it like the BTTF where you can build the car in different eras? And you do your 8 minis, or are they "reversible"....(edit) Oh, I see, one is the original (CUUSO) and one is the actual produced set.

The box art looks awesome. I'm really looking forward to this set but I like the original submitted version more than the LEGO redesign.

Hopefully it'll fit in the same type of display box that I used for my BTTF set.

I actually like a lot of the original stuff better than the final version like Bill Murray's hair. It's kinda like turning a book to a movie, good pieces just get left out or changed.

I'm sure I've mentioned it before in another topic, but the very first letter I ever wrote to a company (it was a school assignment, must've been 4th grade, maybe?) was to LEGO, and I told them they should make sets based on Ghostbusters. At the time, they didn't make products based on licensed properties (my how times change) and their response was to that effect. Anyway, quite literally, a childhood dream is now a reality!

This is now available. Just saw it at LEGO.com. $50. Seems a bit pricey for 4 figures and a car, but I wasn't a huge fan of the series.

That is a great story (I see you posted it almost a month ago but I just saw it when this thread was bumped).

This is a definite purchase for me as well...though, like always, I'll wait for a sale.

HA, and I'll return the favor by responding a month later Yeah, my inner child is very happy, it's a great set and a great design. I had a lot of fun building it on Father's Day weekend.
