Don't think we've seen these picture of the games before. I found it from the toy shop yoda99 provided.

The micro figures are tiny replications of the real figures. I like how TLG made these micro figures so detail.

That board game will probably fall under the $30 price since it comes with a baseplate (or so I am assuming at that size). It looks to have a good variety of pieces that would complement any other Harry Potter set. The microfigures are good but a few Minifigures thrown in could never hurt :)

I was at the LEGO store today (filling up my pickabrick, hell yeah) and the clerk there said that he was expecting the shipment of them next month with one of the employees. I can't confirm that that's true but it came from the mouth of LEGO so I have to assume that they're correct :)
Estimated price on the quidditch set: $25.

Thanks for the info. Think I'll get this set. Price is good considering there's 5 minifgures and some unique elements. It would be my first Harry Potter set. Anyone know if any magnet sets will be out?

It would be assumed that there's an accompanying magnet set to go along with these sets. With the vast array of minifigures, there only being a few repeats (Ron, Harry, Hermione of course) I predict there could be up to three magnet sets for this line. They never announce the magnet sets. They just show up randomly and everyone just takes them as the norm.

I just don't understand the hype over the new Potter sets. The only actual new set is 4840 The Burrows.

Alright I'll break down my excitement for you so you can understand it better...Note: this is only my excitement. Others may want other things.
1. Accessories and Animals. All the HP sets come with a ridiculous amount of animals and accessories that usually aren't seen too often together. Owls, Rats, Spiders, Brooms, Socks, Books and a host of others show up in the sets in large quantities. Its a gold mine!
2. Interesting Minifigures. Most of the minifigures are different (with the exception of Harry, Ron and Hermione). They have good prints, awesome hair, Lucius Malfoy has an awesome printed torso that I can't wait to get my hands on because it's so suave. Then there's also Hagrid who is huge, Voldemort who didn't appear in more than two sets and the Dementors.
3. Hogwarts Castle. It's tan and it has that awesome green color. It also comes with a huge selection of minifigures, including our beloved Dumbledore.
And lastly some of us just were too young to appreciate it the first time around. There's maybe the remains of 4 HP sets from the Philosopher's stone sitting in my basement. I was too young to take care of my LEGO properly and they're all butchered with teeth marks and what not. Now I get a second chance later in my life to get these amazing sets.

Of course there will be magnets. Lego makes magnets for all their figures now. They'll be out in fall I think.TClone wrote:I hope there's some magnet sets, too! How abotu releases dates? See my post further up on the page...I overheard an employee at the LEGO store state that he was actually expecting a shipment of Harry Potter sets next month...I do not know if this means that's when he will begin selling them but I think it's an indication that these sets will be out by the end of summer at latest. They could possibly launch with the rest of the Star Wars sets that have yet to be released.

Hrm... Interesting. I think the original expected date was October, based on Toy Fair images from February. It would be cool to see them sooner... although I'm having enough trouble coming up with the scratch to get the first few summer releases ( ) so they can take all the time they need putting out more sets.legitimatealex wrote:See my post further up on the page...I overheard an employee at the LEGO store state that he was actually expecting a shipment of Harry Potter sets next month...I do not know if this means that's when he will begin selling them but I think it's an indication that these sets will be out by the end of summer at latest. Magnets usually comes a bit later after the sets are released. Using this tatic, lego can make more money by milking collectors first, then kids who can't afford the big sets but can afford the magnets.TClone wrote:Thanks, all. Looking forward to seeing these and maybe some magnet sets!

I'd say that what you are saying is true but I really can't think of an instance for when this happened. They released the PoP magnets with the entirety of the line, and if not at the same time then maybe a slim two weeks afterwards. Most of the Star Wars Magnets pop out pretty quick.

The Hogswarts Express looks like a great set, except I'm not sure the train is in scale with the minifigs or if they can fit inside. I'd say no...swfan wrote:I found some new pictures of these harry potter sets. They are all very nice :D
