New guy from SoCal

Post by Bricksnapper52 » Thu Jan 06, 2011 4:38 pm

Hello I'm a new member from Southern California. When I was a kid one of my favorite toys was my giant plastic "briefcase" full of Legos. Some of you may have had one. It was all blue and had "Lego" stamped on the side and gray plastic snaps....awesome. Anyway, I was satisfied building my own creations and never requested any sets from my mom and dad. But now that my son is old enough to start playing with these brilliant toys, I totally see what I was missing out on.

We went to a show recently at Medieval Times and since then my son has been hooked on knights. For Christmas this year I couldn't think of a better way to stimulate my son's mind, improve his motor skills and encourage creative play than to buy a FEW of the Lego Kingdoms sets......Then Toys R Us had a sale and somehow I ended up buying EVERY Lego Kingdoms set. What a blast assembling the sets and playing with my son. We are saving the castle for Easter, but it looks incredible!

Anyway, here I am and I look forward to lots of great news and tips from the members here. Hopefully I can help as well since I am 20 minutes away from the Disneyland Lego store. Send me a PM if you need anything special.

For $75, it was a no brainer.

Thanks for the welcome, all!

Welcome welcome welcome! If you're into the Kingdoms theme then you should be excited by the next season of it. It focuses a bit more on medieval life and medieval villages, something that us castle fans have been begging for for years.

On a different note always make sure to utilize the sales forum and availability forum. There's always a sale going on somewhere, online or in a brick and mortar store.

Playing with LEGO when I can. Where does the time go?

I've done some searching on the 2011 sets. They sound great! Thanks for the tip on the sales forum. I have a feeling I will spend a lot of time there! Deal hunting is my thing....I just found the Prince of Persia Quest against time set for 50% off at Target. It looks like a ton of fun!
