Hi fellow fans:
I had Lego when I was a kid, I'm an 80's kids then as I grew up I left all that.
Did not save any of my sets and honestly I don't even remember what I had.
Now after all these years I came back because my son started showing interest in Lego about a year ago. I had to rediscover the bricks again.
He has gotten some sets (Ninjago, City, DC) and I have been "practicing"
Of course the pull was to strong and I finally cave in.
Since LOTR is one of my favorite movies I decided their Lego sets was an excellent starting point.
I still have much to relearn about the many brick options since my time with them.
I have been a silent reader of different Lego sites including this one.
I have been slowly reading a lot about MOC and I have been blown away from what I have seen on the net.
Also like SW but I don't have any interest in most of the sets. Only the UCS X-wing, Super Star Destroyer and the Death Star, sadly to expensive for my budget right know.
Gotten some of the SW mini figures that I really want (OT only) and that is it for now.....

Thanks.
Now I'm officially an AFOL.
It all started with "just a few minifures...I promise..."

I too am a big fan of the tolkien based sets. I would recommend getting the ones you like asap because many will be retired soon if they aren't already. I expect we will see the new Hobbit sets for the BoFA movies on display at SDCC in a couple weeks so that is something to look forward to.

Thank you kindly!
Yes I did purchased the LOTR sets.
When I wrote my intro post, I had already purchase most of them on clearance or sales.
I was able to get them from retail stores, I knew I could not let them go by.
After a few months, I own all of them (minus the SDCC exclusives) including Tower of Orthanc.
Which I got using a combination of gift cards and credits so I did not paid full price, that was and epic purchase
Also got a great deal, online, on the Death Star (opened) but like new with only one of the boxes partially opened.

It was when my son starting building with LEGO that I re-entered the world. LOTR was the first sets that I started buying for myself as an AFOL.MrVEP wrote:Thank you kindly!
