With the announcement of a new Winter theme set--the Winter Village--what do you think will happen to the value of the Winter Toy shop? Seems every time I think it will go one way, a counter reason pops up. First off, I don't know if there's any light-up bricks in the Winter Village.
Scenario 1) People want the new set, interest in 10199 will fade. 10199 value drops closer to say, $80, still over original cost.
Scenario 2) People will want the new set, but will also want to add 10199 for their winter town theme. 10199 price rises.
Scenario 3) Winter Toy shop will pretty much stay where it's at - $100-110 range. Doesn't matter about 10216
Thoughts? Any Buy, Sell, Hold choices for 10199?
What will 10216 do to 10199?
Re: What will 10216 do to 10199?
I say somewhere between scenario 2 and 3. More winter sets will come for sure and people may want the older sets to create a better winter town. Scenario 1 will almost never happen unless its being replaced with a newer version like Slave I.

I think scenario 2 is the most likely, but if Lego starts to sell the toy shop again it will be at the same price. If they don't and it's all secondary market then it'll definitely be scenario 2.
Re: What will 10216 do to 10199?
the only reason why 10199 is at $100-110 level is because that's what it costs currently from other region. you do know 10199 is still available on S@H, but in countries other than US and CA.
10216 has no bearing on 10199 and the price can only go up once the other countries also sold out of this set.

A bit off topic, but related...I wonder if anyone's ever tried to order Lego from one of the other countries and if Lego will ship to US or if they will just lock you to the US store items only. That's be one easy way to get a different set, though shipping cost would be even higher than it already is.natelite wrote:the only reason why 10199 is at $100-110 level is because that's what it costs currently from other region. you do know 10199 is still available on S@H, but in countries other than US and CA.

No you can't order it into your checkout. The system blocks you and removes the item from your cart.calvinwashere2 wrote:A bit off topic, but related...I wonder if anyone's ever tried to order Lego from one of the other countries and if Lego will ship to US or if they will just lock you to the US store items only.
