The 2014 LEGO City set pictures (January wave) have arrived. As a relatively new online retailer, Walmart.ca has leaked out all these LEGO City images earlier this weekend. It could have been an accident as the site was upgraded not too long ago so these pictures could be taken down anytime. For this wave, 15 sets will be released and includes a good mix of varieties. There will be sets based on Fire, Police, Trucks and other types of Cars and Vans. Thanks to everyone that contacted us with the news.

Now that you've seen the sets, what do you think of them? Did LEGO made improvements on previously made sets or are they just different versions of the same sets (i.e Police Station)?

yes several look like do-overs & re-release...

i like the tow truck but i'm still trying to keep my "stop the spending" pledge & hold at 12 kits, which combined with the plastic bins for storage, 2 lego books & some bricklink parts was still about $400 yikes

Why do you have a 12 set limit? Wouldn't it make more since to have a dollar limit? If I had a 12 set limit I'd just buy all the biggest non-lisence sets.

Right now I'm interested in the tow truck and the logging truck. This may change after the prices are revealed though.

because a few years ago I fell into the lego-madness of spend spend spend & didn't stop until about $1600 on star wars & misc, played with them a few years, then sold whole pile for $250, didnt save the boxes, didn't try to sell by set & $250 was a fair price per lb back then. it was fun but definitely not $1350 worth of fun. setting a set limit seems to work so far, I tried setting a $$ limit back then but always kept saying, well i've spent $400 why not stop at $500, why not stop at $700 etc etc. also this time around I want to focus on just building cars & trucks, hence the handle & looking at new sets I can't justify busting the limit because the pieces aren't worth it vs. buying a few more pieces at bricklink

City is going to be same for the next few years, you can tell they are the similar cars, trucks, helicopters of the same builds but different parts. Camper van is very much the same but I really dont like the new, one-piece hood. The trucks are boring.
I stopped buying the 2013 City vehicles because my city has already got every car it needs. They won't be great for investment anyway, and the ppp count was bad. 18c per pc for Lego City? Not for me.
