LEGO City 2014 Set Pictures

Post by Toys N Bricks » Sun Oct 27, 2013 1:51 pm

The back of the LEGO City 60020 Cargo Truck instructions booklet contained images of some of the 2014 LEGO City sets. What do you think of these new sets?

So many recent rehashes. What a shame.

However the police station at least looks a little different, which is nice. But it better have some garage doors otherwise I will be very disappointed.

Police again. It is getting ridiculous. They are all the same sets just slightly tweaked. This is getting as bad as a yearly release of video game franchises.

However, I do always joke about Lego City having horrible crime, tons of fire, lots of broken down cars, and taxes 100x higher than any city in the world. I mean how else will they pay for all the police and fire fighters. You have 4 police officers and fire fighters for every house. On the other hand, you have Heartlake City with no crime or fires. Sooner or later, criminals will figure out they have no police officers.

This made me laugh in a very nerdy way.

Kids must really like their police sets.

I like the race track. It reminds me a bit of this oldie that I had as a kid. It could be more detailed though.

As always with City, the background buildings are the most interesting part of the advertisement. I want those.

Nothing in the police line hasn't been done. The City designers must be playing candy crush 9-5.

I just came across my sealed 60020set and thought I'd open it up to have a proper look at the booklet since the photos posted are so res.A bit confused as my booklet just shows current sets.

I'm suspicious since what's been reported here is the only reference and photos for these "new" sets.

This post is hardly the only reference. As stated, Eurobricks and Brickset have been cited as sources of this news, and the image of the "Great Vehicles" is directly from the PDF from LEGO's own file server (click the link "instructions booklet" and take a look at the URL.)

Your set is just older. Obviously it couldn't have a 2014 image if the set you bought was produced a year old.

But no the pictures are fake, it's why they have been added to Walmart.ca.

Well this is a June 2013 set, and I only got mine recently, so it's not a year old.

Anyway, I'm not saying they're fake, I'm just wondering why we can't..... nevermind.

My point is the summer 2013 set was most likely made in March of 2013. LEGO then was running low on the stock of the set, and because it's new and selling they decided to have another run of the set. The new run of the set was made in October and will be out when stores run out of the older made sets.

So LEGO redid their instructions for the summer 2013 set to include a picture of the January 2014 sets. i don't know what you are question because the set picture is hosted by LEGO itself.
