A promotional 5001623 LEGO DC Superheroes Jor-El Minifigure has appeared online at eBay United Kingdom. Looks like a pretty decent figure. This minifigure should be available through promotional giveaways soon. Official release date for the new Man of Steel Superman Movie will be on June 14, 2013. While I am happy this poly has been confirmed, it crushes my hopes for a July 4th promotion featuring an Iron Patriot polybag. I know 4th of July is not an international holiday, but I thought it would have been cool.

i wish lego would unleash on super hero minifigs. i wish they would release blind bags of super heroes. i would buy cases of those for sure!

They most likely can't do that for legal issues. But it would be great if they could.

I really don't like the new suit they have, what is up with the silver bits?

oh man how awesome would it be to do minifigure sets of licensed characters.

I know I would collect them all. Give us 16 little Super Heroes to look for. 16 LOTR's Guys to look for. 16 Hobbit Guys to look for. I know I would be a buying machine.

It does look like the torso is a little different than Supe', I got the MoS set last night and the details around Supe's collar have red in it, and with Jor-El it appears just gold/silver.

Probably. Also, LEGO is about selling sets. Minfigures sell sets so they wouldn't use too many A-list characters to sell by themselves. Or they use unique supporting characters to sell the sets.

If they could get the licensing rights, I would love to have B-list or C-list super hero and super villain characters in blind bags ( Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, Hawkman, Martian Manhunter, etc. ).

Not big enough change for me to get excited about. I will try to get it, just won't try too hard. Just my preference. A cool minifig regardless.

Supposedly if you order a game from Walmart you get iron patriot.

Good timing, $75 purchase to get Jor-El (Superman's dad), just in time for Father's day. :)
