JABBA PALACE - LEGO TO STOP PRODUCTION
Lego has agreed to stop the production because it offends the Muslim religion ....

Re: JABBA PALACE - LEGO TO STOP PRODUCTION
Totally agree. LEGO must stop producing such offensive material. I always knew there was something foolish with this set!

LEGO stops production after making the set for three years...
Just like normal.
Where is the news?

Poor attempt at April fools. I enjoyed the news article that said Disney purchased all the rights to Tolkien and LotR. That was actually funny

Sets should disappear from shelves quickly and sets should appreciate rather quickly.

Re: JABBA PALACE - LEGO TO STOP PRODUCTION
Must be a well coordinated Aprils fool joke then. Sold out everywhere online.

Re: JABBA PALACE - LEGO TO STOP PRODUCTION
apparently Jabba's Palace looks like the Hagia Sofia in Istanbul (Constantinople) Turkey.

Jabba's Palace is the worst representation of the Hagia Sophia I have ever seen.

But LEGO made the sets before then. So 212, and 2013 they made the sets. Then there will be enough trough 2014. That's completely normal. It's a $120 set, they don't need that many. Plus look at NinjaGo, the snake theme sets were retired within several weeks, half the sets were never even on shelves around here because. LEGO sets retire VERY quickly now. This was probably already set to retire and LEGO annouced it to suck up some religious freaks.

The Death Star offends me so LEGO will you PLEASE RETIRE IT?
Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?
Re: JABBA PALACE - LEGO TO STOP PRODUCTION
if its an april fools joke then it was an awesome business move as well. they made a ton of cash and most retailers are sold out online now.lego the hutt wrote:Everyone is well aware of the story...that is why it makes a good april fools joke. Re: JABBA PALACE - LEGO TO STOP PRODUCTION
LEGO only planned to sell Jabba's Palace until the end of 2013 anyways. So they aren't doing anything they weren't already planning doing already.
Re: JABBA PALACE - LEGO TO STOP PRODUCTION
Lego already announced that they didnt cave to anyone much less some whiney turkish muslims, and anyone saying that that complainers had any bearing on anything is full of crap. Two year product cycle, completely normal.

Does this start the 'investment' hoarding?
