Collectible Minifigure brainstorming session

Post by vynsane » Thu May 20, 2010 7:54 am

Someone over at FBTB started a topic regarding what they'd like to see in forthcoming series of the Collectible Minifigures, and I thought I'd port the discussion over to here as well. What would you like to see? Here's what I've got:
  • 'LEGO-Man' (generic superhero type of character)
  • His sidekick (Brick-boy?)
  • A supervillain (who turns all your white pieces yellow and sticks all your 1x2 plates together making it REALLY hard to get them apart ;) )
  • A rockstar
  • Punk-rocker
  • 1920's Private Investigator
  • 1920's gangster (to go with the 1920's PI)
  • 'Crocodile hunter'
  • Motorcycle dude
  • 1950s greaser (à la Mutt Williams)
  • Sea Creature (Black Lagoon style)
  • Werewolf
  • Frankenstein's Monster (to continue the set with the zombie and 'Dracula')
  • Teacher
  • Doctor (already have a nurse, so why not?)
  • Construction worker
  • Bicyclist
  • Surfer girl (to go with the guy from ser.2)
  • Ice-cream vendor
  • Short-order diner cook
  • Short-order diner waitress (those would both be huge for City collectors)
  • 1970s roller-disco chick (to go with Disco Stu from ser.2)
  • Roller derby chick
  • Marathon runner
  • Business man

I'm new here...had to go do my intro post so I could suggest a HOCKEY GOALIE! I like the horror (invisible man?), roller derby & 20s gangster ideas as well.

Didn't we already have a Business man in 8401 minifigure collection?

Ah, yes - had to look it up, but there is a business-man like guy in that set. However, the Collectible Minifigures seem to be a bit more on the cartoony/outlandish side, so he could be a real 'high roller' with a three-piece suit, cellphone (do they have a LEGO minifig cellphone accessory yet? They should...) and sack or briefcase full of money. They could also do his personal chauffer (be it his personal limo, helicopter, train, etc.) in the same series ;)

More ideas
  • Sushi or Hibachi chef
  • Standard gourmet chef
  • Christopher Walken (never happen, but that would be awesome)
  • Bride
  • Groom
  • Bank robber
  • Spacewoman (to go with ser.1 Spaceman)

  • Field reporter
  • cameraman
  • Storm chaser
And to continue the 'circus' theme, joining the ranks of the clown(S.1) and ringmaster(S.2)
  • Tightrope walker/stuntman/daredevil
  • Lion tamer
  • Trapeze artist
  • Strongman
  • Bearded Lady

Storm chasers are people who literally chase storms, usually tornadoes.

Yeah, I don't necessarily know how they would pull that off, maybe a new hair sculpt that's pointing in the same direction, like 'majorly' wind-swept, a shirt with a tornado on it and some 'weather measuring equipment' perhaps?

It's never too soon - I've been a zombie celebrity death for 4 out of the past 6 Halloweens, starting with a (not very successful) Zombie John Ritter, going from there to Zombie Steve Irwin, Zombie Luciano Pavorotti, and Zombie George Carlin. Last year it was a toss-up between Zombie Michael Jackson or Zombie Farrah Fawcett, but we ended up not having a party to go to, so it didn't happen.

Ergggggh, I might respect the dead a lot. Unless you're 4"8 its not like you could do Gary Coleman anyways.

Beautiful suggestions! I love the idea of an invisible man! How cool would that be! Anyone familiar with Stikfas knows how cool a clear lego fig would be.
If I may, I think a series from different movie licenses would be fun too. Something like the Cantina band from Star Wars, Belloq in ceremonial robes, fun things like that.
That being said I appreciate how Lego is handling there executions. These minifigs are fun and silly and really show a sense of humor without being ridiculous!
