They'd gobble up the Monster theme, too...

I believe he is referring to sets 1380-1383, which were monster oriented Studio sets released in 2002.

Oooh that would be a good nab if they came back with that. I'm surprised they don't do a limited release every year around Halloween time.

WIll they keep going with Monsters in the Minifigures line? Will they release any knights as part of Minifigures? Or any characters from the Lego Universe promo poster?

I don't know mate. It's mainly guess work. A lot of the minifigures seem to be a bit City oriented. A regular knight is pretty generic. I wish I knew how they chose these minifigures. It seems right now like they just choose out of a hat.

I think they're doing a great job. It's a great start to the line. And the possibilities are endless.
Re: LEGO 8684 Collectable Minifigures - Series 2
If they are testing the waters with some of these figs, I'm sure many people would LOVE a Spartan/Ancient Greece theme based on how well the Hoplite has been received. They could frame it as a mythological war between Greek Gods and their followers, or a more traditional faction vs faction theme. I would personally love to see an Athens Market Village set.
Re: LEGO 8684 Collectable Minifigures - Series 2
I only wonder how they will gauge the interest each figure receives. Possibly only by online sentiment? I can't see too man of these guys sitting on shelves for a while, meaning they will all sell.

It would be very hard to track, especially since they are in sealed closed bags and they're going under the assumption that people will buy them randomly.vynsane wrote:I only wonder how they will gauge the interest each figure receives. That said I've waited my whole life for an ancient Greek line of LEGO.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought the point was for LEGO to release these every other month or so to pump a bunch of figures into market?vynsane wrote:IDK, given the release date of series 1, it might be more towards November/December - they can fit two series in a year then, releasing one at the beginning of summer, one at the beginning of winter.Eddy976 wrote:I'm assuming either fall or late summer.aranxa99 wrote:Anyone have an idea as to when these might be released?

Re: LEGO 8684 Collectable Minifigures - Series 2
See I remember reading somewhere that they were releasing these every two months but I can't find where I read that! I'm glad to see that somebody else remembers reading it too though.

If you are asking if Germany will receive Series 2 before North America does then the answer is yes.
Simplified: Europe will receive Series 2 before North America receives Series 2.

Lego won't release a new series every month. Design fees for the figures are expensive but producing them is cheap. They just need to pay for the materials fee.

Re: LEGO 8684 Collectable Minifigures - Series 2
I read somewhere Series 2 is slated for September?
Re: LEGO 8684 Collectable Minifigures - Series 2
Nothing's set in stone, it's all still idle speculation. We'll have to wait and see what future LEGO Store calendars have to tell us. The one european site that I linked to in a previous post in this topic has a release date of September. Given that the UK got a month's head start on series 1 we can postulate that series 2 will be released in N. America in October.
That said, now I'm thinking about getting a case of them to hand out for Halloween! If someone had them to hand out when I was a kid, that woud've been the awesomest house of the entire night! ;)
