Here are the LEGO City 2013 sets for January. This wave's focus will be a combination of Fire Rescue and Police. Pictures courtesy of Flickr User hinckley39.

A total of 8 LEGO City pictures have been revealed so far. It appears that we're still missing LEGO 60009 and LEGO 60006 which could possibly be limited edition sets.

OMG! Another fire station! How many fire station does a city need? I wonder how excited TLG were when they designed and built it? I understand kids may love fire station, and it is acceptable to keep fire station on the shelf. However, is it necessary to waste the resource to remodel it every 2-3 yrs?

Now, it is not hard to foresee what the Black Friday deal is : clearance of 7208 Fire Station

On the other hand, why can't TLG release a bigger Museum, at least as big as the fire station? I am so sick of these mini bank, mini hospital, and mini museum. If designers could come up with sets like Haunted House and Arkham Asylum Breakout, then I don't believe the designers not capable to make a better scale of bank/hospital/museum. What the hxll the marketing team was thinking!!! At last, a word to TLG - thank you for saving my money.

I hope my complains not going to discomfort you. :???:

At least there's actually a building on fire this time around...

Again, though, remember that these are completely aimed at kids - when's the last time you heard a kid say "I wish they would make a realistic LEGO museum... It would be so fun to pretend to be the curator of the Egyptian collection." Sure, there's probably one or two kids in the world that have said that, but they're the exception.

Also, the price of the Haunted House and Arkham Asylum sets needs to be addressed - the average parent is NOT going to shell out that much money for their child. Those sets are primarily targeted at us. A museum set on the level that you're talking about would have to be within the context of the modular building series, not the CITY theme.

Is that a new self powered winch on the helicopter?

The winch isn't new, it was on the Coast Guard chopper a few years ago.

My kids, having been to a museum, would think that a large scale LEGO museum would be the coolest thing in the world, so I guess that Dad's going to have to MOC one using this as a starting point. I'm surprised they didn't use the Atlantis column pieces though.

As for the fire station, the old one is already on clearance at many stores. I've got two already, so I passed on it a few times, but it's a good parts pack with lots of windows and garage doors.

As for the price point on some of the new LEGO sets, I agree 100%. I love some of the modulars, but making the jump from the $120 price point (Kingdoms Joust) to the $150+ price point is a jump that I just can't bring myself to take. Even the $120 price point is a stretch for me, while I think nothing of buying $100 sets for my kids as presents (although usually I try to buy those on sale). I'm adding the Maersk train on my Christmas wish list this year, and the new passenger train may be my birthday wish, but those would only be the second and third $120 set I've bought after Joust. I really love the Fire Brigade, Grand Emporium, and Haunted House, but the prices are just too steep for me.

I will say this, if the rumor is true on the next modular, I may finally make the jump. I'm kicking myself that I missed out on Town Plan, because I love that Cinema... so if the next modular is a theater and if it looks great, I probably won't be able to pass it up.

Every single set is disappointing, IMHO. Except for the Police SUV and red car, now that is a cool set! Museum is underwhelming, I thought it would be way bigger with some actual displays inside such as, paintings, fossils... etc. The only reason I would get the museum is for the Police van.

I hope the "great vehicles" will be better than this.

if they scrap the cars and the heli and just focus on the museum i think it would've been a huge hit. Im sure most children who has lego owns a few cars by now. What i don't like is how lego don't focus on one thing and try to make many different small elements in one set.

Also out of all the set the top two would be the museum and, i hate to say it, the red car and police one base off the new game. normally i don't like how lego just release new sets of cars (because we obviously are lacking in vehicles) but there is something i really like about that nice red car.

Very mediocre IMO. But it must be hard to keep the firemen/police sets to be fresh.

the two piece tree in 60001... wow.

and for a minute i thought it was cool that the fire helmet now comes in dark red,
until it hit me that it's in the most recent wave of fire sets too.
...i didn't think of this because i haven't bought any of those either.

so yeah, thanks LEGO for saving me some $ on this wave.
all the more for me to save up for the modulars i guess.

ah, back to fire then. Man, there's gotta be some untapped city themes that would sell. Heck I'd be excited to see another hospital

They just released a decently nice hospital, about $10-$15 too expensive though.
