LEGO Star Wars 10221 Super Star Destroyer
Re: LEGO Star Wars 10221 Super Star Destroyer
I agree with some of the other folks in this thread: Although I do own the Death Star, I will probably pass on this one.
In my mind, the super-expensive sets really need to tilt in one direction or the other. Either superb UCS sets for advanced builders & collectors or keystone sets (aka Death Star) with tons of playability and minifigures. The Super Star Destroyer seems to fall into the middle ground. A handful of figures, weak playability, high price.

Re: LEGO Star Wars 10221 Super Star Destroyer
LEGO has just contacted us regarding their press release that was revealed 2 weeks ago. Apparently, there is a typo and LEGO will be fixing it up.
Article Link: http://www.toysandbricks.com/lego-10221 ... oyer-typo/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;Unfortunately, as has been called out, the pre-production label included a typo and therefore made it into the production photos for this product, but rest assured that the actual label contained within the box will be accurate.
Corrections will also be made to the box and instruction art, but will happen in, "running production" which means initial product (most of the 2011 run) will still be packaged in boxes and with instructions that contain the 'typo' photo. However, these sets WILL contain the accurate plaque label.
Re: LEGO Star Wars 10221 Super Star Destroyer
I wonder if these "error" sets will fetch a premium in the long run, or if it'll actually deter people from buying the early production sets until the corrected boxes are released.
Re: LEGO Star Wars 10221 Super Star Destroyer
I, for one, don't really care if my box is misprinted. But I'm not one who gets sentimental about boxes. After I build a set and make sure everything's ok, the box goes to the recycle bin.

I bet they'll be worth a TON more. Looking at the past the typos are always worth more than the correct ones. I'm guessing the exclusivity and truly limitedness of the items adds to it.gunoz wrote:I wonder if these "error" sets will fetch a premium in the long run, or if it'll actually deter people from buying the early production sets until the corrected boxes are released.

Maybe I should reconsider keeping my box then? Maybe it will be like the mis-molded Leia hair and fetch big bucks.lukeskywalker wrote:I bet they'll be worth a TON more. What Typo? Sorry but I was running through the pictures but cant seem to find that particular typo. Is it on the label of the super star destroyer?

On the sticker for the ship's info, it lists a weapon as a "turoblaser", not turbolaser.macmon wrote:What Typo? Sorry but I was running through the pictures but cant seem to find that particular typo. Is it on the label of the super star destroyer?

Saw the mighty SSD 10221 over the weekend at the LEGO b/m and it is nice.
I will definitely be getting/adding this to the collection.
