Star Wars Sets LEGO Should Make

Post by legitimatealex » Fri Jan 07, 2011 4:46 pm

We all know that LEGO cranks out Star Wars sets at a lightning pace but they seem to miss a lot of the ships and settings in the SW universe and even do multiple designs of the same set or scene without change. Just wondering which scenes or ships you would like to see make an appearance as a LEGO set.

I'd like a few Death Star scenes that aren't purely apart of the gigantic $400+ set.

If that can't be done then definitely the Gungan underwater city. That place gets glossed over in about 1 min.

I'm a starship fan and I think that a couple of ships that have been skipped over is the Nebulon B Frigate and the medium transport from the ESB. Not the flashiest of ships, but still recognizable from the movies.

What about Padme's Spaceship from episode 1? That would probably have a bunch of chrome bricks and the minifigs would be cool.

I think those would be great for more Midi-Scale sets, but it seems like LEGO might be abandoning that scale, since the ISD went on clearance so quickly. :( The issue with those sets is the price - if they could bring them down to $30 or even $25, or if they kept it at the current price-point but included some printed and/or rare pieces, I think they'd sell a lot better. The Nebulon B would be AWESOME in Midi-Scale with all the greebles and stuff along the central 'spine' and the antenna cluster in the front!

I would really like it if Lego revisited the Cantina with more minifigures and focus on the bar. I think a whole wraparound in the movie would look pretty sweet.

From OT:
UCS Cloud City (the exterior view would be nice to display aside Death Star, MF, Star Destroyer, etc)
Rebel Transport

From Prequels:
Droid Control Ship
Jedi Temple

Maybe they could make a rancor from ROTJ in a similar form to the 5764 Rescue Robot or 8962 Power Miner Crystal King with the same pose-ability features. Introduce some new brown and tan bricks and bring back the gammorean guards or a twilek dancer and a jedi luke.

I definitely need the Nebulon B Frigate (top priority) followed by the Rebel Transport. Then Mon Calamari. Mid-scale would be the most accessible. And along the way, need A-Wing, B-Wing, and other TIEs at the mini-scale (not micro as in the Christmas Advent Calendar).

Banking clan Frigates. Every other faction has a capital ship except the Separatists. Also the senate building and a Trade Federation Ship would be cool.

A Cloud City set similar to the Death Star 10188, with different rooms would be interesting. A Rancor set is a must.

UCS Cloud City is a brilliant idea (similar to the Lego Death Star but different shape)

I'd also like to see a super-detailed Carbon Freeze Chamber set.

New Battle Packs based on Clone Wars season finally:

Trandoshan Hunter Battle Pack with a Trandoshan Speeder
Wookie Warrior Battle Pack with with 2-3 Wookie Warriors and 1-2 Jedi Younglings and... I don't really have a good idea for a vehicle/weapon.

The Trandoshan drop ship with Trandoshan's, Chewbacca, Ashoka and a Wookie Warrior would be cool but to do it right it would have to be in the $100+ range so I don't see it happening.

I think LEGO should just make that MOC up there the set. I'd buy it.

I missed out on the time they had a pod racing bucket. I think something like that would be popular if it came back.

A relook of the version II armor that has lately only been seen on the ARC troopers on the Tv show would be nice. I much perfer the variations with the later armor much more than the clone or stormtrooper versions.

How abput a cheaper version of obi's starfighter?

One without the hyper drive ring, simmilar to anikins but in a more appealing color than yellow.
