LEGO 8805 Collectible Minifigures Series 5
Re: LEGO 8805 Collectible Minifigures Series 5
So when do these series stop? My wallet is taking a serious beating! :D To me series 1 is the best so far. I'm working on getting series 4 now. I'm behind. ;)

If these were clear packages, and we could see the figures, at least it would give Lego an idea of what's popular. The wanted stuff will fly off the shelf and the ho-hum will stay. In Star Wars collecting we call it "pegwarming" ;)
Re: LEGO 8805 Collectible Minifigures Series 5
Now the only ones I'm really interested in for this series are the Gangster and the Victorian Investigator (Sherlock Holmes). Marginally interested in Dwarf, Gladiator and Snowboarder (he doesn't look as 'cool' as the other 'extreme sports' dudes).
The rest... just meh. It's a shame, too, because my CMFs1 Caveman would like a Cavewoman to share those cold cave nights, and at $1.99 it would've been a no-brainer, but $2.99 was really the breaking point for me in terms of "collect 'em all".

If I am not wrong, the upper corner at the left should be Gladiator, right? However, I don't find him looking like a gladiator. I could recognize him by his sword and shield only. His helmet is too bulky. It took me a while to identify this minifig before HD pic is available.

Actually that term is used by action figure collectors accross the board, not just Star Wars.sadowsk1 wrote:lol, pegwarming, nicefangbone wrote:They're 4.99 in NYC. The Helm is instantly recognizable to melegohunter wrote:If I am not wrong, the upper corner at the left should be Gladiator, right? However, I don't find him looking like a gladiator. huh..... i just wish in one of them it would be a war devotion one honoring the soldiiers throughout the ages. like a ww2 united states marine or a canadian trooper

Remember Lego is still at least slightly commited to the "no modern warfare" priciple. Though how the IJ sets don't violate that, I have no idea.CoMmanderC wrote:huh..... i just wish in one of them it would be a war devotion one honoring the soldiiers throughout the ages. like a ww2 united states marine or a canadian trooper
But Formal Dress uniform could avoid the "combat" aspect.

Because the closest IJ gets to "modern" is the 1950s.NIGELTTF wrote:Remember Lego is still at least slightly commited to the "no modern warfare" priciple. Though how the IJ sets don't violate that, I have no idea.
You could make a CMF set on world militaries alone.NIGELTTF wrote:But Formal Dress uniform could avoid the "combat" aspect.

If this is the case, the chance to see U.S. Navy SEALs' Team Six in lego minifigure will be zero.NIGELTTF wrote:Remember Lego is still at least slightly commited to the "no modern warfare" priciple. That probably wouldn't be too popular internationally anyways. Now I'd love to have a seal team 6 keychain. Then my keys would really be safe.legohunter wrote:If this is the case, the chance to see U.S. Navy SEALs' Team Six in lego minifigure will be zero.NIGELTTF wrote:Remember Lego is still at least slightly commited to the "no modern warfare" priciple. hey guys,
I just saw some hq preview pics of the minifigs from a spanish(?) Lego convention
they are on this site: http://www.flickr.com/photos/0937/sets/ ... 818179597/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Check them out fast 'cause I'm not sure if they will last for long.

Why didn't TLC use red as the theme color for packaging? Is red looking bad for packaging?tired wrote:hey guys,

The boxers gloves are his actual hands. Interesting. Didn't expect that.
Who is General Failure and why is he reading my hard disk?
Re: LEGO 8805 Collectible Minifigures Series 5
According to the July issue of Game Informer mag. the release date of series 5 is July 20th. Although there is no mention of series 5 in the July calendar or the Lego store.

I think the official date will be the first or more likely the second week of August.starfire2 wrote:According to the July issue of Game Informer mag. the release date of series 5 is July 20th. Although there is no mention of series 5 in the July calendar or the Lego store.

I love the cave woman. She's got a bone on her head for a bow.

Re: LEGO 8805 Collectible Minifigures Series 5
I asked the guy at the LEGO Store in Natick MA (It's near Boston) when the series is supposed to come in. He said they said it would be August, but they don't have them in the back, so that's out. Now he is hearing early-mid September.
