I think that's a clown with a pie, not a drum

Hmm, so far I'm kind of disappointed with Series 5. Series 1,2,3, and 4 all seem better than this one, but it seems the final judgment will be made when we see the shot of all 16. ;)

i was going to say that based on what i see here, i already think series 5 is as good as, if not better than series 3 and this is only about half of the series.

Oh yeah, I noticed on the headline it said "Maid?" I don't see anything that resembles a Maid. Perhaps it's the girl with the bone on her head? Perhaps a Cavewoman?

In anycase.. I want the Gladiator!

Looks like Cleopatra and a Roman Gladiator.

There are some interesting figs here. 4 still seems to be my fave of the series but this has potential. Wonder if the gladiator or dwarf will be the new "elf" or "zombie" of the series.

Hrm... 9 in CMFs5? The dwarf might be cool, but none of these are jumping out at me, but once again, mainly due to a lack of Sci-Fi. There's also a dearth of Town/City types in this line-up, which is equally disappointing, as they're rather multi-purpose. Maybe there will be another 7 revealed in the future that will fill in the gaps, but so far I'm relatively unimpressed again... It's a shame, too, as I was really gun-ho with the first two series. The jump in price plus the not-as-cool factor have really damaged my opinion of this line.

To me, the "adventurer" looks like he could be a Sherlock Holmes based detective and the "Gladiator" which would be very cool, could be a Spanish Conquistador, I would be happy with either.

I think what I like the most is the mold for the boxing gloves! Vynsane is right though. Lot's of city types. Not only that, they are kinda revisiting the same theme from previous ones. Then again they may have ran out of ideas so they started to create complimentary characters. I mean you have

Cleopatra/Egyptian girl that goes with the pharoah from S2.
The Gladiator who goes with the Spartan from S2
Cavewoman goes with Caveman from S1
Mini Clown goes with Clown from S1
Godzilla Suit guy goes with Ape Suit guy from S3 (are they creating an oldschool arcade Rampage theme? Need a better wolf than S4 if they go that route)

Would LOVE to see the next 7 characters. So far this set is lacking an evil character.

That's not an "Adventurer", it's Sherlock Holmes.

I'm with you on this. I found some from the third series for the first time last night. I thought about it for a few minutes and ended up putting them back on the shelf. I'm just not that excited anymore. Maybe if Lego had left the barcodes on I would have grabbed a complete set just to have. But I'm not interested in loads of doubles. If I want any specific figures, I might just step up on Bricklink or Ebay.

Yknow I have bought packs from Lego.com and from the store without feeling them, and received very few duplicates. Now that they fixed the fisherman distribution everything is a bit better.
I bought 10 packs from a TRU (and used my rewards certicates and paid .99 cents per) and received a fisherman, 3 sumos (unfortunately), a gorilla suit guy, a snowboarder, and elf, a rapper, mummy, and Alien. The packs I bought from Lego I have not sorted, but of the 16 I do not think I got many duplicates to be honest from just a cursory exam of the package 'bumps' (which have the time barely can be seen or felt) I think Lego jumbled up the boxes more so you can have an easier time getting random packs, even from Lego. Lego was horribly bad with Series two as I got 16 packs from them and at least 5 were witches.

Not impressive  Royal Guard could be the most outstanding one.

are you serious? use my evaluation technique... it's the royal guard that will be the new elf. gladiator is close but no... not army material. dwarf...well, dwarf was already available...no difference in previous mold and dwarf mine set still not inflated too high beyond msrp, so no it's not the new elf.

They look good to me. I won't be buying any as I feel they aren't worth the trouble but at least they are nice looking.

Yeah. If he were purple, we'd have a Barney costume fig.
