My bad, I honestly didn't even see the word dearth. I think my mind decided to rewrite your sentence LOL.vynsane wrote:Dearth means lack, meaning I was lamenting that there were no standard general purpose City types.oocaleb101oo wrote:Vynsane is right though. Lot's of city types.

HA, that can happen. I'm still reading $1.99 everywhere I see CMFs3, even though the signs say $2.99 ;)

For some reason that link does not work for me. Anyway, I found a pic on another forum. Love the guard and the cavewoman.

i don't think that the link will work any more, because it might have been removed by lego

Yeah, odd... still works for me, and I made sure to strong-refresh in order to make sure it wasn't a cached version.

Hmmnnn. I wonder how they're going to do the boxer. I'm also going to want Sherlock Holmes and the English Soldier.kevin1990 wrote:but here is some good news :D

Looking at just that one pic, I personally like Series 4 more. I definitely wanna pick up a beefeater (the royal guards or whatever they are in the UK) though.
Re: LEGO 8805 Collectible Minifigures Series 5
I really hope that is Sherlock. Thanks for the link!

My bet is that with the boxer they are going to do the same thing they did with the pom poms for the cheerleader.

I always think it's funny to see what people like. "Stupid crash test dummy" or "Not another ringmaster!" I don't know about the rest of you, but I buy mainly for myself. In the event of a duplicate I have many young family members to distribute my unwanted figs as gifts on birthdays and holidays. I try not to open the bags when I get them which makes it easier to give as a gift. I know the prices are rising for the minifigs, but giving a kid a smile is worth it. This might help the multiples aggravation. Instead of "AARRGH!" it will become"Susie would love this."
My favorites seem to differ from the mainstream sensibilities. The Crash Test Dummy was one of my favorites from Series 1, just behind the Robot and the Clown. I saw awesome possibilities. I saw hilarity. Each and every one of these figs has a story. The picture of series 5 looks pretty cool. I like the dinosaur man. I just watched the first few episodes of the original A-Team and Hannibal was wearing something similar. Funny stuff.
Looking forward to more,
Jared

Actually, there is nothing wrong with crash test dummy, and I do not hate him either. It is just that there are some other mini-figs better than dummy within series 1, so he is not on the top of the list.legogod wrote: My favorites seem to differ from the mainstream sensibilities. Not having a cheerleader minifig, what are they like?legitimatealex wrote:My bet is that with the boxer they are going to do the same thing they did with the pom poms for the cheerleader.
Re: LEGO 8805 Collectible Minifigures Series 5
The cheerleader's pom poms are like a hallowed out globe. The bottom is open and there is a post coming down from the inside/top that clips on to the minifigure's hands. It's hard to explain, but legitimatealex is right, the boxing gloves could work the same way.Mantisking wrote:Not having a cheerleader minifig, what are they like?legitimatealex wrote:My bet is that with the boxer they are going to do the same thing they did with the pom poms for the cheerleader.

Those would be some monstrous boxing gloves then. :)atmail35 wrote:The cheerleader's pom poms are like a hallowed out globe. I'll be getting the grad guy for sure. Why is there another fisherman and dwarf? Snowboarder is almost like series 4 skateboarder. Didn't we get the snowboarder in series 3 and skateboarder in series 1?
