Winter Toy Shop Question

Post by LegoMom » Thu Dec 30, 2010 10:16 am

Hello!! First off, I am a newbie to this site (and Lego collecting) so I am SO SO SO sorry if I put this question in the wrong area!! Please feel free to move it to the right spot in the forum!!!

This year to start off our collection we purchased the City advent calendar and Winter Village Bakery. It was fun to use help decorate our house for the holidays.

I am learning that items do get discontinued!! How long has the Winter Toy Shop (10199) been around? We would love to add this item to our holiday Lego collection. I am nervous that if I don't buy it now/soon it won't be around in 2011 during the holidays!! (Learned my lesson this year with the beach house LOL).

Thanks so very much for the help. I am really enjoying this board!! You guys are great!! Happy New Year!

Buy it now!
It is from last year, and was hard to find.
Will be again soon.
I have inoperable cancer and am unable to work. Any gifts would be appreciated. Thank you!

A good rule of thumb is that if the items is seasonal, it will only be around before the season and not after. The advent calendars usually appear around Sept. but are usually hard to find. The Winter Toy Shop and the Winter Bakery are both seasonal sets, albeit large ones. They too are also hard to find. If you're really looking to buy a seasonal set, make sure you buy it as soon as possible. They appear before the holidays and disappear almost immediately after.

Winter Toy Shop will return next year. The bakery, which is older, will not.

Hmm...I thought I saw something different. Then the reverse is true...I know it's one or the other.
