Wow, I just noticed that. Unfortunately that's the only set that's giving us a lot of transparent yellow cockpits-the others are smoke.
If you want transparent yellow cockpits, just buy this year's Atlantis.
I really hope this is not a one-year gig like World Racers. This theme can go two ways.
1) Aliens manage to land outposts onto the base (tower like rockets similar to the Hardcell transport from star wars) and began to imprison humans on a large-scale basis. Earth's troops have to save them and continue to repel aliens
or
2) Humans repel aliens and have to attack their ships in space with orbital stations.

Bear in mind, any images we've seen are prelims and colors can change.

Yeah, I remember the Ninjago prelims. They Dojo looked awful.

I'm pretty sure the cockpits would match, it only makes sense they would. LEGO is most likely doing one of two things...
Seeing what color they should use, what color looks better.
They didn't have the the right shape cockpit in the right color so they used it as filler.

True, but I don't remember ever seeing that piece in trans yellow.

This theme looks like so much fun, but I was really hoping for yellow cockpits.

I just watched the video too. That truck is huge. That UFO is giant! I love how the captured alien goes into an observation bay so things remain sterile. Lots of playability.

I love that alien thing too. It surprised me-but it's an awesome system. Too bad it's too big to fit into a smaller vehicle.

Sounded like a cool concept when I first heard of it. Looks even better than I imagined. Seems to me that minifigs keep getting better and better.

I love the sound FX on the mothership. I wish we got a demo of the "abduction" feature, but oh, well... The mobile HQ looks really feature-rich, and the figures look fantastic.
I'm still holding out hope that the windscreens are still in test-shot mode, and will be trans-yellow in production, though now I'm thinking with Atlantis already having transitioned to trans-yellow, I kinda doubt they'd use the same color in a different theme, for the sake of part variety in this year's offerings.

Actually since there are only 5 2011 atlantis sets and, not including the little minifigs, only 1 having actual yellow windscreen, and 1 yellow bubble, it would make more sense to me they would make the alien sets have trans-yellow as well.
also, has anyone found the 2011 color chart?
I have inoperable cancer and am unable to work. Any gifts would be appreciated. Thank you!

I'm actually surprised how bulky the Earth Defense HQ is. Comparing it to the agents trailer or the world racer truck, the walls are actually brick built rather than technic beams and large plates....very reminiscent of classic space.
You would think that the Vic Viper would be more protected in its pre-launch position but I guess not.

It's, what, twelve studs wide -- not including the tires?

More bricks that are useful!
