Re: 2011 Cars
I agree. The other reason is that all the cars have the lenticular eyes now and they just freak us out. Its like the Mona Lisa, with the eyes always following you around. Creepy.ncbarrett wrote:that no doubt is the reason for the non duplo CARS sets being released.smilyremhof wrote:...

Re: 2011 Cars
Actually, the cars aren't entirely "juniorized". At least Mater and the one that sells army equipment aren't.

Mack looks great. McQueen looks horrible. I have to agree that big one piece bonnet looks bad. I'm sure they could've made more curved pieces to make it look better. Plus the wheels are too exposed. I'll still get them since my nephew loves Cars.

By one piece bonnet, do you mean that McQueen is one piece?slacker wrote:Mack looks great. McQueen looks horrible. I have to agree that big one piece bonnet looks bad. I think he means that the front end is all one piece.BobaFett2 wrote:By one piece bonnet, do you mean that McQueen is one piece?

Re: 2011 Cars
That picture of Mac and McQueen does look very nice. I might have to buy this now. I almost wish it looked terrible so I could justify skipping it. :)
Who is General Failure and why is he reading my hard disk?
Re: 2011 Cars
yes the hood of the car looks to be one piece. And it also looks like the back is another piece. I guess it was the only way to make those area resemble more like the car. I can see that it's going to be all stickers.Mantisking wrote:slacker wrote:Mack looks great. McQueen looks horrible. I have to agree that big one piece bonnet looks bad. Re: 2011 Cars
McQueen doesn't look too bad...that curve looks quite useful for micro vessels

I think Mack looks pretty good.
McQueen in the second photo looks like fun...and it has Luigi! I'm curious to see how they make Luigi!ThunderFighter wrote:More photos

Re: 2011 Cars
TnB... Just so you know the link on your home page leads to Space Police 2010 Toy Fair news.
I'm very sadden by the fact that these sets looks horribly childish...
Yes I know, they are LEGOs, but they look so bad they might as well have been Duplo, it's hard to even tell they are System.

The RSS Feed was being fixed that time and it messed up some of the links.Brick & Blue wrote:TnB... Just so you know the link on your home page leads to Space Police 2010 Toy Fair news.
The links have been fixed now. Thanks!
Re: 2011 Cars
I do wish that they would have picked another Disney film with "people" so they could do minifigs. My daughter loves Cars and we have some (gasp)...Megablox Cars sets that she has kind of outgrown so I thought these might be fun for her, but she really likes the minifigures the best.Brick & Blue wrote:I'm very sadden by the fact that these sets looks horribly childish...

Maybe Tangled with the long hair and tower....but that probably is too "girlie" for Lego.

Cars is a big Disney movie this year, but I had hoped it would look like Tiny Turbos" (Have pieces) but in Cars form and they are three of four pieces on a set of wheels, very disappointing. You can hardly tell they are LEGO.
The truck looks nice, but the big main chaarcter set isn't even as great as I thought it would (or should be).
I'll probably pick up a small set depending on price because it's a Pixar Lego set, have to support Pixar.

Re: 2011 Cars
The cars look good, maybe just a bit flat nosed, but it is Lego so curves can sometimes be hard to do.
My boys will want them that is for sure.

Re: 2011 Cars
The blown up version of that one character doesn't look bad, and the golden rims of the wheels are nice. The smaller ones are a bit of a disappointment. I could see this line doing well with kids, but not so great with AFOLs. If the eyes on the windshields are prints though, I'm sure I could find some use for them.

I'm hoping they're stickers. Otherwise that's a waste of parts in rarely seen colors.legitimatealex wrote:If the eyes on the windshields are prints though, I'm sure I could find some use for them.
