With all this pricing conversation on the table. Should a thread be started on how much people will pay in the price per piece ratio before they tap out? It's not as though there is any competitors worth buying from as an alternative at this point...

Hmm....price per part has been extremely bad recently. They could charge more, or use less parts....

I'm now taking bets....

6918 Blacksmith attack $11 or $13. That's how much the smaller sets always are, so that's almost a given.

7187 Escape from Dragons Prison $30 If Last year's tower was $20, this one has to be $30+. By the numbering it's cheaper than the carriage.

7188 King's Carriage Ambush $40 The carriage is bigger than the last $20 one, two horses and two trees and three plus minifigures.

7189 Mill Village Raid $60-$70. It's clearly not a $100 set, and it seems bigger than the normal $50 castle sets.

We will find out in about a month.

I'll take your bet. Push the Blacksmith attack to $12.

Escape from the prison is $20 or $25.

Ambush is $30.

Raid is $50. I refuse to believe that that set is that expensive.

argh...regardless of your bets..

This just means more damage to the wallets of Canadians.
Why do I feel that the Mill might be $70-80 here

I'll have a good feeling I'll win this bet.

The reason I think the sets are so much is based on last year's price.

If one tower and three minifigures was $20 than a set with two towers and 4 minifigures and a horse is $30+.

Everyone remember this set....
http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=7078-1

If that is $20 the new one is $40-$100.

Plus even last year...
http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=7949-1

That thing is $10. The new one is several times bigger, has at least and extra horse. For some reason LEGO carriages have become very expensive.

I really like the fact that they have a chicken the smallest set, I missed out on cows and bulls because they were in more expensive sets. I wish there was a $5 set with a farmer and a few chickens or something.

Don't forget that it came with a really nice rolling trebuchet. Also those "towers" are about 2/3rds the size of the Kingdoms Outpost. I think it will be about $25 using the Star Wars Echo Base as the guideline:

Echo Base ($27.99)
-5 minifigs
-Tauntaun
-E-Web Blaster
-Hoth Turret
-wall structure

New Escape Set (I'm guessing $25 based on 1 less minifig and roughly equivalent features)
-4 minifigs
-Horse
-Small Siege Cart
-Small Jail Cell 1
-Small Jail Cell 2

I really don't want you to win that bet though, because then I think we all lose :|

Does any one know what is going on with the Battle Packs? I was able to get a Dragon Knight BP at the Lego Store before Christmas, but never saw the Lion Knights. Now the packs have been pulled from the website and the Lego store employees have no idea what is happening with them. Does any one here know?

I was wondering the exact same thing... it seems that even the Dragon Knight BP went out of stock VERY fast.... Would love to hear if they were just put on hold and will be continuing production in the future (kind of like how they paused the line).
I have mixed feelings about new releases: I can't wait to see and get the new sets... but I can't figure out where I'm gonna put them or store them.

I barely ever see Battle Packs. The only one I've seen is the Pharaoh's Quest one. The Pharaoh's Quest one stinks though...

And correct me if I'm wrong, but Battle Packs are made like CMFs, right? And the printing used to be worse, right?

I'm not sure what you are refering to because I'm new to this game, but I am picky about detailing and the MFs in the battle packs look great! NO complaints! I hope they are not discontinued, or a holiday only offering.

The old ones had bad printing.

I was hesitating but decided to jump on the dragon knight battle pack from s@h last year. To me they look great. Unsure why they are off, perhaps they sold out and are perm gone? They don't seem to be like SW battle packs where they are very abundant. One Lego Store I went to only has the Lion Battle pack. That was in Charlotte.

SW Battle Packs are normal sets. Other Battle Packs are special
