The hut is really cute but I won't pay $8 for it.

I really like the snow hut. I have my fingers crossed that legoland has them during their 20% off coupon time.

Be warned with the Gold bricks. There are actually few gold bricks. They include mostly trans yellow and tan bricks.

I'm not a big DIYer, and I usually prefer to pay more for something with a Lego logo on it. But after considering the price for all 4 (around $30) I went on Amazon and found similar 2 inch diameter plastic bulbs for $10 for 12, over 50 reviews averaging 5 stars, and free shipping if order is $35 or more.

Although the ribbon is separate (which I can do without) and granted the hut might not be easy to piece together - we all know how cheap and easy to come by white and red bricks are. And to hear that the gold one is mostly trans yellow and tan bricks?

I'll just do a few of these myself, thanks. And will probably have some fun and a better result anyways.

I liked when the Lego Stores did "Pick an Ornament" a few years ago where you could buy a ball and fill it with PAB pieces. I ended up making a car and sticking one of my many Advent Calendar Santas in it, and it still goes on our tree each year.

Good point, i have a few of those snap together ornaments from Michaels. I was thinking i couldn't make something as cute and small, but I could just stick in a Santa minifig and some red and white bricks and call it a day since i already have all of those things :)

Do those Amazon plastic bulbs have a ledge to hold a 6x6 round plate like the LEGO bulbs?
