2011 Modular building?
I just wonder when will release annoucment for 2011 modular building? I been heard that Lego plan to set post office/office for the year of 2011.
Or I would like to have the four store in one set (cost possibly very high like $399 to 599.00) I know that been hardship on cost but would like worth it as lego star wars death star (10188).
I like to hear your feedback on that

Re: 2011 Modular building?
you may check this post, it's a pretty big discussion regarding the next modular building speculations.

Re: 2011 Modular building?
I would like to see lego selling additional second floors for the modular sets. So buy the Fire brigade for 150, but additional second floors for like 40$
Re: 2011 Modular building?
HA, yeah, sorry everybody - I tacked it on here and neglected to leave a Mod Note. Been busy this week for some reason ;)toystest wrote:lol, it must have been moved :Dcstojano wrote:That post IS this post :^) You almost broke the internet.toystest wrote:you may check this post, it's a pretty big discussion regarding the next modular building speculations.
That would be cool, and literally the definition of 'modular'. I would like to see this with the trains, as well. It would be nice to be able to add, say, a few more passenger cars to the Emerald Night without having to buy the pieces on BL or get an additional set.toystest wrote:I would like to see lego selling additional second floors for the modular sets. Re: what should be the next modular house?
I wonder if anyone has fielded that idea of extra cars or extra floors for sets to LEGO. It seems like a more sound strategy than increasing prices and using crappy Chinese plastic.
It could work out like this:
Using the Emerald Night as an example
1. Buy the Locomotive itself. This serves as the base set and comes with tracks and what not.
2. Buy a passenger car.
3. Buy a sleeper car.
4. Buy a dining car.
5. Buy a caboose.
You could just add on as much as you wanted.

They did that with Santa Fe Super Chief in 2002. Although they would overcharge-they're recent trains have been a lot more expensive.legitimatealex wrote:I wonder if anyone has fielded that idea of extra cars or extra floors for sets to LEGO. They did this with "My Own Train" train a few years back.legitimatealex wrote:I wonder if anyone has fielded that idea of extra cars or extra floors for sets to LEGO. It seems like a more sound strategy than increasing prices and using crappy Chinese plastic.

for example:
buy engine with track set 4534
then cars 10013, 10014, 10015, 10016, 10017
also with sante fe
buy engine 10020 or 10133
and buy cars 10022 & 10025

Re: what should be the next modular house?
Well then I have to question why they still don't. Was it not popular?

Re: Modular Building 2011?
I'd guess something residentially oriented, like some sort of apartment building. It seems like that's what's really missing from the modular sets atm.

They wouldn't sell.
LEGO stopped making train cars separately because no one was buying the add ons, and I imagine the building sets would sell even less.
Re: 2011 Modular building?
I think they had prices that were far too high-that's probably why they didn't sell.Brick & Blue wrote:toystest wrote:I would like to see lego selling additional second floors for the modular sets. So buy the Fire brigade for 150, but additional second floors for like 40$

Re: 2011 Modular building?
The Santa Fe cars were not over priced and no one still bought them. Lego comes out every once and awhile and goes "People say they will buy them and they don't". LEGO isn't a non profit, they need to make money and train cars and other floors won't sell.BobaFett2 wrote:I think they had prices that were far too high-that's probably why they didn't sell.Brick & Blue wrote:toystest wrote:I would like to see lego selling additional second floors for the modular sets. 35 dollars seems like a decent price, I guess I was wrong. I thought it was more around 50.Brick & Blue wrote:The Santa Fe cars were not over priced and no one still bought them. Grand Emporium.......
I have not heard any news about a new addition to this line. So is the Grand Emporium the last one? Has anybody heard anything? I would love a bank or a office building.
