Wired has released a video showing the massive UCS LEGO Star Wars 10221 Super Star Destroyer being destroyed! That's a lot of time spent on building just to get it destroyed. Now how long will it take for them to sort out all those pieces (3152) and rebuild it again? Thanks to Jonathan for the news. (via Brothers Brick)

They called it a $800 set. Are they in Australia?

Checked the price lately? It's 900$ on amazon, 700$+ on bricklink...800 is a fair estimatevideriant wrote:They called it a $800 set. Are they in Australia?

I wonder how many pieces will get physical damage on this hit? I don't think I will do this to my $800 worth of collection.

I saw one piece get broken for sure in the video. Even though the scales are off, they should have dropped it onto the Lego Death Star 2. :D

My son did something similar with my Millennium Falcon when he was 3. It had been completed not ten minutes earlier. A couple of technic beams did split. Unfortunately, no cool video footage exists to document the event. It was an amazing explosion and I'm sure it would have looked great in slo-mo replay.

The camera setup is pretty, otherwise quite a lame use of all that building time... And programming resources just to display a slow-mo deconstruction! And eventually inspire many more folks to make their own slow-mo damage videos. Come on folks @ weird (wired). How about doing something constructive with your time?
