Star Wars Toy Fair Report

Post by vynsane » Mon Feb 16, 2015 6:14 am

In addition to the UCS Tie Fighter unveiled at the Collector Preview event at the LEGO booth on Saturday (but not on display on Sunday), there were eight new LEGO Star Wars sets on display. I somehow managed to miss one (75091 Flash Speeder), so I have pictures of seven of them. The eight sets are broken up into one Rebels set, two Phantom Menace sets, two Return of the Jedi sets, two ConstrAction sets, and one Advent Calendar. For those who want to avoid spoilers, there will be ample warning to scroll fast before the Advent Calendar is displayed.

The Phantom Menace, Return of the Jedi and Rebels sets are slated for June 2015 release, while the Advent Calendar and ConstrAction sets will be available starting in September 2015.

Would have loved to have seen a Tuskin Raider in the advent calendar

disappointed about the advent calendar special figure. usually they go all out and change 2 figures like darth vader and the r2-unit last year. This year is kind of pathetic. Putting the two brown pieces on top of r2 and the c3-po is sort of boring with a giant beard. I do like the new hoth trooper though. I like the new darth vader helmet in the final duel set and i like the detail for the imperial shuttle but the parka on leia looks stupid compared to han which is printed. The two rebel guys are very detailed although the one seems to be having a messed up beard lol. a little pricy on most of the sets though. i will pass on the imperial shuttle and the final duel.

Seeing the advent calendar actually brought a huge smile to my face. The mini death star and millennium falcon looks great!

Unfortunately that's not a mini Death Star, Its actually that's the Planet Defender Ion Cannon From ESB.

What I find even more interesting is that most of this advent calendar is from the Original Trilogy and not so much from the clone wars!

Am I alone in saying "not another naboo starfighter"?
Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?

No, no you are not. The Final Duel and the Shuttle are on my want list. But everything else is a big pass.
Who is General Failure and why is he reading my hard disk?

The Good: Sabine with her Mandolorian Helmet!

The Bad: It's in a $130 set that I don't care about......

There were too many of naboo starfighters that have been released. Is it really that popular? I actually never own one.

The only box set that caught my eyes was 75094 Imperial Shuttle Tydirium.

The Naboo Fighter and the Starfighters are the only really well know ships from the prequels. So we get a lot of them.

When the prequel was released I LOVED the design of the Naboo Fighter. I don't own any LEGO versions though and would prefer buildings or even a facade of a building or a portion of a base.
