The building style is a lot like the 9492 Tie Fighter, just applied in a larger version.

It's a very nice-looking model, but I feel like it would be a lot more enticing at a $150 or even $160 price point, especially when considering the UCS Slave 1 is still hot off the presses at the same msrp.

Is this model mining scale like the Slave 1?

A large Ucs tie fighter with little details and a big price tag... Something similar to the Ucs B-wing. At least the b-wing had a lot of character. Can't wait till the tie fighter goes on the clearance sale for 4th may 2016

The Slave 1 (75060) is a definitely better deal over the Tie fighter (75095). It has 331 more parts and 3 more figs. I don't why Lego would price them the same.Jon_Solo wrote:It's a very nice-looking model, but I feel like it would be a lot more enticing at a $150 or even $160 price point, especially when considering the UCS Slave 1 is still hot off the presses at the same msrp.

Large Lego aircraft/spacecraft models are quite heavy. Making a model stand that rotate 360 degrees (yaw) is not difficult. However, making a stable model stand which also allows for adjusting the model so it can tilt up and down (pitch) or adjusting the model so it can lean right or left (roll) is difficult. I was looking at how to do this last year for a World War I dogfight display, but I didn't get too far - Lego Bionicle ball joints, hinge joints, and Technic friction ball joints could not handle the weight of either the Lego Sopwith camel and Fokker DR1 triplane.
