The minifigures are great and have a nice "classic" look to them. The sets, other than the ship, don't do much for me. I'll still be buying them for figures though.

Some lovely minifigures. Revisiting original Pirates is a neat idea. Always had a soft spot for Redbeard and crew. I'm really pleased they've been updated.

I do like the classic pirates. It would have been nice if they could have thrown in some more rare elements though like maybe some beards or hairpieces from Pirates of the Carribean.

There is the powdered wig from the collectible minifigures Revolutionary soldier. That's a start. and we get a new Do rag hat piece. Also the saw fish head is a redo. they've remodelled the saw section with a top ridge to make it stronger and less snappable. There's also the brick facet brick in dark red which is jolly nice. lol
One thing i do find a bit odd. The single Juniors set. Isn't the whole Pirate theme Junior? Looking at the set designs and the parts/build techniques used it seems aimed at a very young demographic. Maybe I'm just getting old and senile but it strikes me as weird to have a whole wave of very simple sets and then just label one 'juniors'. Lego marketing is a wibbly wobbly world of strangeness.

Good points. I didn't notice the sawtooth shark or powered wig. I wouldn't mind having a few more powdered wigs. I haven't had a good look at the new do rag hat piece. I was fine with the old one but it will of course add more variety with mocs. They did add a slicked back hair piece for one soldier I noticed.Blackorange wrote:There is the powdered wig from the collectible minifigures Revolutionary soldier. I'm greedy.. I missed out on Davy Jone minfig. Loved his hat and beard parts. Would love to see Davy Jones and Blackbeard's hat in more sets. Also would love to see character named Angelica's hat/hair piece appear in more sets. Blackbeard's beard was great. Perhaps there will be some great prices on these sets since it is unlicensed? fingers crossed...
